If you have a 60+ gallon compressor you're really better off using pneumatic sanders. If not, this should do the trick, only slower.

Excellent sander. No complaints. I build furniture on the side and have used this one for two years. I can't think of one bad thing

If you're in an area where Menards stores are located, you can get an 11% rebate from Home Depot as long as it's an in-store purchase and Menards is also running their 11% rebate.

Ok... do yourselves and get the Bosch GEX18V-5N. It's $70 more, yes, but it comes with a 4ah battery and charger at Lowes.

This sander is unreal! I never thought a sander under $200 could be this nice, and smooth.

Having 1 arm, as a woodworker, a sander could really do me wrong. I had been using pnuematic because they're much better balanced (and a decent one can be had for $40), than an electric. And I swore there would never be a good electric sander under $200.... I was wrong.

Bosch has always made great sanders. To me, they were the go-to for sanding and were just behind Mirka and Festool in function and quality. But they were $200-250. So trying the one a buddy got at Lowe's was a game changer for me.

Bosch has really stepped it up across their line. I've said it here and elsewhere many times before, but come next year, the new tools they have coming out, will push them passed Makita. (And a few of the newer tools will turn the heads of the Festool folks.)

Sanding car parts can be brutal on an electric sander. Paint, clear, grease and oils from a car can get nasty when they get into an electric.

Pnuematic, or a really expensive electric sander designed for auto work are a better way to go. And if you get a good compressor, you can do it with a 30 gallon. (If size is an issue, you can get a really expensive10 gallon, but it'll run almost constantly, and cost more than a decent 30 gallon, or an okay 60 gallon.)

Anyone have thoughts about this vs the similarly price fed single speed 3a dewalt for woodworking projects? I'm looking for a reasonably priced backup sander.

Have this sander, picked it up last year at HD for $42 and have been very happy with it. Used it to prep wood before staining and for small projects around the house. No complaints, bag was nice to keep the sander along with sanding discs in the same place

For most in a shop I don't see the point of a cordless sander. I always have dust collection hooked up anyway so I'm already tethered. I've been using this sander for about 3 years and it's great, hard to beat at this price point. I highly recommend Mirka Abranet sanding discs.

If you can find something else to buy under the "buy $100 save $20" promo, you can take advantage of this promo. Looks like a lot of bits, a router, 12V driver and router accessories are in the promo.
