European safety standards changed related to low speed ped v vehicle. This made vehicle manufacturers change their ornament design to mostly flat and less stabby... plus, they've always been a target of juvenile delinquents...
Ok the glass then

I have no idea what this means and how it is related to the change in hood ornament design.

Better to do it at the windshield vs hood ornament anyway.

I just sprayed a small line on the garage floor so once I can't see it, I know I'm good

My garage I have to pull in a very exact amount to leave enough room around a large car to walk. I bought a cheap laser thing years ago that shines a laser on my dash from the ceiling of the garage. It only turns on when the garage opens and I align the crosshair to a spot on my dash. Love it, no tripping over crap on the floor or bumping into tennis balls hanging from the ceiling.

I don't really know if the regular price actually is 36$ bucks I did got them a couple months ago for same price and they are just okay mine has almost slid out and the tape is still attached to the slab for this price would just put another one. These do help with small garages that have really narrow space and you don't wanna hit the fridge or have the garage door slam on your car.

My old neighbor used to hang a ping pong ball half filled with bird shot from the ceiling of his garage so that when the hood ornament of his car touched the ball, then he knew that he was perfectly parked. I don't think that any modern car features a hood ornament anymore.
I did something similar with a tennis ball. Just wondering, what is "bird shot"?

I use a zip strap device when parking in the garage. You insert an end of a zip strap to form a simple circle and attached that to the garage wall. When you look sideways, out of the window, you know that your perfectly parked when the loop shape disappears and it looks like just a straight zip strap. Simple and cost effective, I have two, a higher one for the suv and a lower one for the sedan.
