Despite being this price millions of times from other vendors, it's still a good deal considering it's Costco and comes with a 2-year warranty.

I would expect this to be lower by now. I recall this base model being under 700 a few times about a year after its release. Great computer but given its age I think it's worth a few hundred more for the updated body. Also what about the battery sitting all these years? Any issue there?
