True but you pay for efficiency and convenience. This is basically a heater, fan, and air purifier all combined. Not only that but you can also control it remotely via Dyson app or Google home/Alexa.

I snagged the HP02 for $229 on the recent deal, if the internals are exactly the same with different shells this is still a great deal.

My hp04 from 2017 just died 4 days ago, great for heating the wife's office so she doesn't make the whole house 80 in the winter and 65 in the summer with the fan on her we are good and don't need the AC under 70.

I agree if a person wants to spend the money,..I have the previous version (HP01) and works well and filters are inexpensive

I love these don't have to worry about hot surfaces, have amazing air purifier metrics, work well as an air purifier, and can tie it into HomeKit with plugins.

The Winix 5500-2 is a better air purifier and you can find cheaper filters for the Winix than you can find for this Dyson. You can save the extra 100 bucks and put that towards either a separate heater or additional filters for the Winix unit instead.

Electric heaters are nearly 100% efficient. There's no such thing as a weak electric heater. All heaters of equivalent wattage will produce equal amounts of heat.

Some heaters are better and worse at distributing the heat, but the Dyson is actually pretty good at heat distribution so not sure where you're coming up with your info…
