They are a new line from Oral B that is more similar to Philips Sonicare with sonic vibrations and rotation, not just rotation. In my opinion, it's far superior to the older Oral B type.
I only recently got the iO 4, through a Secondipity sale which was posted here in early October. So far I really like it; I was worried that the sensation would be unbearable for me (autism causes certain physical sensitivities for me), but I've gotten used to the vibrations. My dentist has always recommended electric toothbrushes, so I guess they do the job better.

From everything I'd read, there are a ton of counterfeit replacement heads on Amazon and eBay and such sites, and the best way to buy them is retail through trusted stores, though they are regularly priced at least $10 a head. So I went ahead and bought these and posted here despite my hesitation to do so (I rarely spot a proper deal),

And I thought the brush head replacements for the regular Oral B were expensive. I have to replace them about every 1.5 months, usually brushing 3-4 times a day. After about 6 weeks, the yellow color is very prominent and the performance has dropped a lot.

But is it better than Sonicare though? I switched from Oral B over to Sonicare a few years ago and haven't locked back. I prefer the cleaning sensation of Sonicare. Plus the Sonic vibrations are gentler on the gum which is important as you get older or those who are experiencing gum recession.

I'm using the same one for the past almost a year Smilie

Replace your brush heads every 3 to 4 months or you might do damage to your teeth and gum due to worn out bristles.

Thanks for posting. This is the first sale I've seen since buying a brush on one of those Walgreens sales.

Just purchased the iO 7 a few weeks ago. My biggest concern is how my gums feel after brushing. It feels like the bristles may be too firm. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this as well and if purchasing softer brush heads have helped? TIA.

Just bought the IO6 so I could use the extra heads and at this price you can't go wrong! I ordered the black as it's back in stock. Thanks OP!

Thanks all for your advises - It seems 3-4 months for a replacement.

Keep in mind that for service members like me who stationed overseas and many times in combat zone, I don't have that opportunity to replace it 3-4 months but keep one for the whole duration of our deployment.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year to you all and your family!

It does take a little getting used to. Maybe try Sensitive or Super Sensitive modes?

I started with Sonicare years ago and switched because I preferred Oral B's round brush heads. The new IO models are definitely more Sonicare like now that the brush rotates and pulses. Frankly if you use either brand regularly and properly I doubt there's a ton of difference in performance.

If you don't see blue bristles and see only white then it's time to replace the head.

I noticed that the "suspicious" heads (Amazon) keep the blue tint for way way longer. And I guess it's not for good reasons

I'm questioning this as well. I'm getting gum recession which I've not gotten before. I can't tell if it is the iO, but I have been considering it and have been using it on the Sensitive setting in an effort to reduce any negative effects. A soft bristle option would be good to have; I'm not aware that there is such a thing for iO.
