Thanks OP. I'm heavy into the ecosystem and always thought about getting one, but never looked into it because I have googles and Alexa's all over the house.

Grabbed one because impulse buys are my thing. It's a disease I caught from slickdeals almost 10 years ago
Repped, thanks for sharing. I was previously buying HomePod Minis refurbished from Ebay. I think the best price I ever got was $45 plus tax, but the seller increased to $60 a while ago.

These work great as Matter (Thread) and Bluetooth network extenders, they have a built-in thermostat and hygrometer, and in a stereo pair, they sound surprisingly good for their size and cost. Also, love or hate Siri, these work great for issuing commands to her.
True, but I view this ability as a kind of negative because Apple don't let you manually select the device you want to use as a HomeKit hub. I have many HomeKit devices that run nicely with an ethernet-connected Apple TV as a hub. But when it restarts to install software updates, one of my HomePod Minis always becomes the new hub. Eventually I'll notice that the HomeKit network is slow to respond, so then I have to manually restart all of the HomePod Minis so that the Apple TV becomes the new hub again. It's kind of a pain and even sometimes requires me to unplug the HomePods for a while before the Apple TV will become the new hub.

Good deal. Even if you don't use it much as a speaker it is also a Homekit hub.

Thanks OP, repped! Great price was able to score one in blue most of the time deals are only on black or white. The extra tech in it makes it great for thread networks.

Edit: someone is salty on this thread they are going through and downvoting every comment lol grinch must have gotten coal for christmas laugh out loud

Had a HomePod mini, hated it, did not work well at all with Spotify, and Siri is genuinely inferior to Alexa, but if you're hellbent it's a good price
