This looks good, anyone have experience with LG laptop quality? I am okay with 16gb RAM, as I plan to keep this 4-5 years at most. Few laptops in this price range seem to have upgradeable RAM. I am basically overwhelmed with options when searching for a laptop. I build my own desktop to my liking. This will be for my wife, travel, and backup for remote login into work.

I don't own an LG Gram and have only looked at a few models in various stores. So I won't comment on LG Gram build quality, software or support, other than to say some users have expressed concerns about hinge quality. That being said, I have spent considerable time researching laptops for travel and that is what I'll focus on.
There are quite a few ~$900 laptops with upgradeable RAM, but very few 16" laptops @2.64lbs. And lighter is definitely better when traveling. Aside from its very light weight, USB-C charging and a Micro SD Media Card Reader help make this device good for travel. The HDMI port can be used to connect the laptop to hotel and cruise ship TVs, provided you can access the TV's HDMI port and switch the input (and it's not locked out). Perhaps bring/download a universal remote as not all TVs will afford access to physical buttons/on screen controls enabling input change.
The Full HD webcam is higher resolution than 720P webcams in many other laptops and certainly good enough for Zoom calls. However, it's not as good as 5MP webcams found in some business notebooks (such as HP Elitebook 845 G10). Since this isn't a business class laptop, there is no 5G/LTE modem, SIM slot or Ethernet port, so online access will require Wi-Fi or mobile hotspot.
16:10 screen is better for productivity than 16:9 (less scrolling). 99% DCI-P3 is an excellent color gamut. 14" QHD+ resolution and IPS panel is very usable and won't drain the battery like a 4K or OLED display would. 350 nits is bright enough for most users; you might have to move to a shaded area if outdoors on a sunny day.
Thunderbolt 4 ports can support a TB4 dock, external monitors, eGPU so you can use the laptop as a desktop replacement.
Finally, read the Q&As at the seller's website. Apparently, someone installed Windows 10 on this model if that is of interest. Verify drivers and other software for Windows 10 are available for this laptop from LG (and backup all data) if you choose to downgrade from Windows 11.
