The model with clipless compatibility is $66 and features a Velcro strap. But yes, stiffer and grippier soles. I prefer this model to the Freeriders since these are much more breathable.

Is it just a stiff sole that makes these mountain bike shoes? I don't see a place to attach SPD cleats.

Any experience with the width vs free riders? My free riders are stupidly wide

I bought both over black Friday but haven't tried them on yet. I hope they're not wide as I have narrow feet.

This is still a great price on a casual mountain biker right?

Haven't invested in shoes yet. Only better grip pedals from a REI deal months ago.

These are good for the summer season. Super ventilated so in the cooler seasons you might have some chilly toes.

These are for flat pedals, not SPD.

if anyone prefers SPD's, can get some adidas velosambas (limited colorways) for $65.

Yes, I'm obviously referencing a different pair when I mention the $66 pair that are spd compatible:

Dang I was really hoping to get these but if they run narrow they won't work for me. Thanks for the info.

So I took have wide feet. While more narrow I was able to work them in. Just not as naturally wide as their other models.

Great shoes! These are really grippy and hold up extremely well. I've put down a couple thousand miles and they are in excellent shape still.

Sweet! In for a pair of Olives.

I've had the black ones for almost 3 years now and they're still holding up fine with fairly heavy use. Fits true to size.

I just got a pair last week. These run narrow and long. Many people (see reviews on Amazon or YT) and I would suggest you size down 1/2 in most cases.

I have wider feet and my normal size works ok. They look/function great but don't keep your feet warm or dry in winter riding. For less than $50, they are slick. There are other 5-11s on sale like the pro free riders in limited colors, or at least they were last week when I was shopping.

Also, AJ has Adidas CB.
