    Some states charge tax on digital downloads; others do not. (Lots of questions and arguments in the thread about this.)

    You can use Free Fillable Forms (https://www.irs.gov/e-file-provid...able-forms) - which is provided for free by the IRS with no income limits and free e-filing. I usually use TurboTax (free as long as you don't file) to check my numbers and to make sure i filled out everything correctly

    Deluxe Desktop does stock transaction downloads you do not need premier desktop. Deluxe ONLINE version doesnt handle stocks and you need Premier ONLINE for stock transactions. Intuit does this on purpose to confuse people.

    An additional thing to consider. Around Christmas time I make sure to get as many of my purchases with no-rush shipping as possible. We don't stream Amazon videos that often and are not really app buying people. Ordinarily no rush credits would expire on us but when this deal rolls around each year, the non-gift card version is also discounted but you can apply your no-rush credits to it.

    In a case like mine, the better deal is to forego the $10 gift card and instead use your Amazon no-rush credit bonus. Mine this year was $27 which means I was able to order Home and Business for $51 after tax.

The software won't install unless you sign in to your Intuit Account online. Importantly, your product license code can only be associated with one Intuit Account.

    Your license code will then be stored in your Intuit Account, should you need to install the software again.

    The Turbo Tax download or CD does not include the state return. When you install it, you then specify which state, and it is downloaded. If you bought the Federal + State, the state is free. If you didn't then you pay. Essentially, you download the same program.

    There is no difference between download & CD. I prefer the download as I get the immediate satisfaction of having it. Plus, if I lose the installation program, I can download from Amazon again.

    How do I get free shipping on this deal without Prime or the Prime free trial? I was able to do it last year but it's not working this year.

    I'm trying to order Turbotax Deluxe Federal and State disc but can't get free shipping unless I agree to the Prime free trial. Otherwise it wants to charge me $6.99 for shipping:

    Adding items to account for the $10 gift card doesn't get rid of the shipping charge.

    How do I get around this without ordering the download version?

    EDIT: I see MrConsumer posted a similar comment as I was writing this one. Waiting to see if either of us gets a response that works to restore free shipping for the disc version.

    Have you tried this and can you clarify? The poster said they shares the software, so presumably that means they shared the already downloaded file that installs it.

    Are you saying that it will just not let you redownload the software on another account, but if you have the download already it will work on another account?
