That's ymmv. Regardless I paid $99 for the 8 person version in 2016 and it was a great tent. In 2022 the pole elastic broke so the poles didn't stay together, but this is definitely a great tent. Camped in rain and decent wind and this held up perfect; much better than my brother's Ozark trail.

I don't think you need it. These tend to last a while. Had my 8 person Coleman for 10 years before I had any issues.

Nope. Chances are you won't be using it more than a couple of time a year. These things last 10 years because most of the time, it's is sitting in the garage.

Just had a Coleman 6-person rip at 2 corners due to high winds at the camp site. I'd totally add the $8 warranty.
