As an FYI, if you're pressure canning, the lids on these 'off-brand' jars aren't great and tend to fail. The jars are great, but better off tossing the bands and lids and buying some ball lids locally.

Any free shipping codes? Shipping is making the deal lukewarm.

Anybody knows where these jars are manufactured? The only thing I can gleam from the website is that they are two distribution centers in the US which doesn't mean much.

PUR Mason ā€“ PUR Mason jars and lids are manufactured in China and distributed by the PUR Health Group in Broomfield, Colorado. According to a PUR company official, PUR lids and jars are safe for canningā€”both water bath and pressure canning.

all lids are going to have some that don't seal, usually it is operator error, too tight of a band, too full, etc. I use the cheapest dollar store lids and rarely have a problem. I usually can reuse them a good 3 times as well.

Yep. 9/10 times it's due to operator error. I have also started use cheaper lids from Amazon and have had no trouble with them. I also reuse mine. Generally, if I'm pressure canning, I'll use a brand new lid, but if I'm water bath canning, I don't have any issues reusing lids. I'll also mark my lids with an X each time I use it so I know.

This is a must have device for anyone opening canned food. It's meant to be used with Tattler's reusable lids (which are awesome), but it works just as well on metal lids - allows you to easily get the lids off without bending them at all, which then lets you reuse them. $4.25 with free shipping.
