As a fellow Energy Drink Connoisseur, I'm in the same boat.. but I think it comes down to Red Bulls being catered to a slightly different market than Monster/Rockstar, with a bit of overlap. It was always puzzling to me that they can sell an 8 oz can at $3-4 at a gas station when you've got 2/$3 cans at double the size right next to it.

I'll buy them when the price is right ($1/can, like in this deal) but there's definitely a lot of red bull fans out there who will buy them daily from the gas station at a high price. Some like the 8 oz can for the convenience (similar to how a 20 oz. bottle of coke sells for more than a 2-liter), but a true connoisseur is slamming 16 oz cans all day and doesn't have time for these child sized cans 🥲

How can they label it "Sugar-Free" when the Ingredients are:
Carbonated Water, Sugar and Glucose

Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but, as a connoisseur in the energy drink space.. I find redbull to be vastly inferior in terms of cost to quality compared to Monster and Rockstar. The latter two are still a better value on Amazon for caffeine per fluid ounce, I believe, and full 16oz cans.

I believe the sugar free does not in fact have Sugar/Sucrose/Glucose at all, but has other sweeteners instead (Sucralose and Acesulfame K?) which is enough to qualify it as "sugar free"

I may be weird but I actually like the taste of Red Bulls (or at least have gotten used to it over the years).

To be completely honest, I've never tried a Monster or Rockstar, is there a consensus on a universally liked flavor from those two that I should try? I've had several of the C4s, which are pretty good.

Try Ultra Zero (white can) of Monster, or the white can of Rockstar Zero. Both are good. Rockstar Zero has more caffeine. But Monster Zero white can is my daily go to.

That's fair. I guess if someone wants to have something different in the house for guests or mixers then $1/can isn't terrible but it's still expensive as hell per ounce by comparison, and tastes like piss lol.

I think Red Bull was first-to-market, and that means everything for something that will have a lot of competition for sales. I drank sugar free Red Bulls for at least a year before trying a Monster, and it wasn't bad. Red Bull is still my preference, have one sitting right here. I bought the recent Monster deal that had purple, orange, and green cans and I don't like any of them. The green one tastes exactly like a green jolly rancher.

I do really like the simple Monster zero sugar. So I was surprised that the others tasted so bad to me

I'm sure for many others who started off drinking monster that it's their drink of choice for similar reasons

Red Bull invented the higher end energy drink market. White trash drinks Monster Energy drinks, and puts the stickers on their trucks.

Idk what it is about Red Bull, but even with the least amount of caffeine of all the different energy drinks I have tried, it makes me less tired the best.

It's not great for a quick energy jolt to work out, but as far as a drink to keep you going throughout the day/night, it does the job.

I am one of those people mentioned above that grabs at least one can at the local gas station daily when driving my kids to school. I know it's a poor financial decision, but I grab deals like this when I see them. Thanks OP!

Opposite for me. Monster is nothing but a energy crash with a stomach ache. Red bull works and all you need is the 8oz can

Red Bull is like a Starbucks coffee, Monster/Rockstar like 7/11 coffee.
