Meh. Usually drops to $18 - $20 in January. I'd wait.

Its already $20. You wont see $18 again with inflation.

So weird how we had inflation 9 months ago and it still dropped to $18. And we had inflation the year before that and it dropped to....$18.

Maybe this will be the year of double secret inflation in which we will never see $18 again. Well, until late Feb / early March when it drops to $18.

It was $15 before it went up to $18 last year. Must have been double secret inflation again.

This is what I use and I'm a former CPA and used to prepare individual tax returns. Given my knowledge of tax forms/rules, I'm not sure that makes me a good judge of what is the easiest/simplest product to use. However, I was always satisifed with H&R Block, plus the price is very reasonable.

Just one heads up, even though this says "Deluxe + State", you still have to pay to e-file the state return. I think it's usually like an extra $20. There may be an option to print it off and mail it.

Warning don't be fooled by Block's marketing. Deluxe does handle self-employment, 1099, single member LLC income and rental income along with just about everything else the average taxpayer need. Also does all capital gains income including crypto.

If you take the advice from the charts and click throughs, they put up it will guide you to higher versions when it is not needed.

You don't have to pay you can mail it off. Cost of a stamp is well less than $20.

Not really" There may be an option to print it off and mail it."

That "may" makes it appear like it may not be an option.

"May" because we don't yet know what the 2023 version will allow you to do for free, but I do know that you have to pay to efile the state, and it's usually $20

I do know, hence my comment that brought both clarity and information. You could of just asked without assuming I was wrong. It does what it always has, it will let you print multiple state and federal returns to your hearts content. You don't have to pay to file state if you file on paper. You may and can choose to pay $20 to efile state.
