I did some research for anyone non technical wondering the same question: in a simple sense single bevel essentially lets you cut angles up to 90. Double bevel lets you cut up to 165. Single bevel can do the exact same thing as a double, just takes longer because you have to rotate what you are cutting for certain angles.

Also, sliding miter saws let you cut thicker pieces of wood (because you can move it in and out) and might have longer durability.

Just keep in mind that single bevel does make cutting crown moldings less enjoyable, should be good enough for 2x4 and lumber. Anything wider than 8" I think is beyond reach as well unless flipping over.

Yes, it CAN do the exact same thing. If you are doing trim and don't know what you are doing, I already spend too much time trying to remember if I am cutting an inside or outside corner. And I screw it up 1 out of 10 times still. it's not simple like cutting a 90 degree. With a single bevel, not only do you need to remember what direction to cut, you know need to figure out if the trim needs to be flipped too.

I get this sounds like a non issue and it probably isn't for people that do it all the time. I would be livid if I didn't have a double bevel saw to save $50 bucks.

The sliding is not really a need for me or for trim. It only is needed if you are cutting things bigger than 8" which I have yet to do.

It can but as other stated the "guillotine" cutter as I call it is much better option due to almost no dust and generally you would need more expensive blade for laminate to make cuts more clean and for the blade to last longer (in my experience regular blade would be done after 1000 sq ft of laminate or so). Jigsaw with fine/downward cut blade would make up for majority of longer cuts or doors/openings, registers, starter/end pieces etc. Multitool with carbide blade would work too but slower on the other hand can also be used to undercut moldings and trim where needed,

Get it. You won't need the double bevel unless you're doing crown molding and that's a real pain in the nuts. This thing will last a lifetime I have one, the double bevel one that I've had nearly 30 years.

I bought this mostly for the stand. Waiting on a deal for the dws716xps and will likely sell the 715. Shame you can't find the stand deal with the cutline saw.

I have this model and for some reason it doesn't make proper cut at any angle, it's always some degree off. I tried to adjust but it didn't work, wondering if whole product line like this or it's just mine is kinda defective?

It depends on how much use you're planning to do with it. Ryobi is ok for occasional builds like sheds, partitions etc, dewalt has more professional build quality especially when it comes to motor and how robust whole thing is and best suited for many years of use and handles cutting through like butter as long as blade is not dull. If blade starts struggling and burning wood pieces on the sides or makes large splintered cuts on the bottom side of the cut pieces then it's time to get a new blade.

Honestly for best inside corners fit and look I think coping is best way (you can still cut the angle on miter and then cope it with that thin blade saw). The next best thing is to use angle finder to measure corners first and cut to exact matching degrees. Another option is to use crown molding stops made by dewalt to keep the pieces locked to same position for each cut if nested diagonally. There are plenty of other helpful hints which can be found online including YouTube I'm sure but it makes a difference when using cheaper saw vs more solidly build ones.

If you're referring to stand, then maybe, it depends on mounting holes of the other saw but they're adjustable on those clamps as far the the saw itself not even sure how to answer that.
