Edited to add that I recommend somehow marking the end of the strands so you can easily find them when it's time to take the tree down. I spent over an hour pulling mine off this year as they tangle very easily and didn't want to let go of the branch. I seriously considered chucking everything out the door - I was so frustrated but remembered how expensive they were... But even then š”

I would guess a normal-sized tree would be somewhere in the 800-1200 light area depending on how you like to place your christmas lights.
I also already got my shipping notification and USPS tracking number saying label created, these folks are quick.

Thinking about returning it and buying 2 of these sets and a bare tree next year and have twice as many light for less money

Edit: sorry, didn't completely understand the question. From my experience, no, they are not connectable between sets.
