My 1st gen Ring doorbell is located in a 6-7 ft deep entryway and it shows nothing but bright light/glare starting about 7-8 feet out. Does anyone have this and does it reduce the glare from a bright light at the end of a long entryway like mine?

Is it pointed toward a bright light? I don't think there's anything you can do about that. That would affect any camera.
Is this any better at night or dark visibility compared to the cheapest ring for example? I can see down the street during the day but can't even see the driveway at night which has lights on beside the garage door.

This pro has the eagle eye motion alerts which is amazing. You set a motion alert zone on a satellite image of your property, and if the motion is in the camera view motion zone but not in the satellite image zone then you won't get false alerts. We'll worth it based in just that feature. False notifications turn me off most security systems. But Ring has a great solution.
My ring pro just started to have an apparently common fault where the internal relay that triggers a physical indoor chime now causes the ring to reboot after someone rights the bell. Press button, doorbell rings, powers down, and then powers back on. The solution I found in the forums was to go into the doorbell's setting and turn off the relay that triggers the indoor chime. It no longer reboots when the button is pressed. I still get alerts on the phone at least.
Is this good if you don't get subscription? How long the alerts available in free plan?
Without a subscription, Ring doorbells are only useful for realtime usage. That means you'll get real time alerts when there is motion at your doorbell, or if someone rings your doorbell. You can also see the live video from your doorbell and interact in a realtime 2-way conversation with someone at your doorbell.
A subscription is required for anything involving cloud storage. So no recordings, and as a result, no visibility to anything that has happened in the past.
With one exception. The activity log will record historic alerts. So you'll see that the doorbell rang two hours ago, but you won't be able to know who it was or see any video capture.
Is it good w/o a subscription? I guess it depends on your use case. My elderly parents are not mobile enough to go downstairs in their multi-story home to answer the door. When the doorbell rings, they are able to see realtime video of who is at the door on their Amazon Echo Show. For them, it is super useful even without a subscription.

Really? I started having an issue with My Ring Pro on Halloween, that I purchased back in Jan 2019. After a day of getting ringed around 7pm it stopped working. Had to disconnect the power , re connect and reset it to get it re connected. Happened again a couple of weeks ago. Then yesterday, 2 times someone rang my doorbell, and it froze, then eventually re connected 30 minutes later. Now today, someone rang my bell at noon, and it froze. Had to disconnect and reset when I got home from work. Getting annoying

Does your ring activate your indoor mechanical chime when someone pressing the doorbell's button? If so, go into the settings for your doorbell, go to device settings and then in-home chime settings and disable it. That should fix the problem. No more indoor chime but you'll still get alerts on your phone.
