Looks like you would have to add this HUB to get it to work with Alexa

You would need either the switch it hub, home assistant, or Hubitat. Home assistant is there only local option.
I have the switchbot hub. So i can use this as a trigger for Alexa?
I've only tried it with the SwitchBot iOS software and their hub, and it seems to work well for temperature notifications.

I purchased some other compatible products at the same time so it made sense to get these, but it might not make sense to get it by itself without a hub. It looks like it has less functionality if you don't buy a hub (or use Bluetooth with Home Assistant).
Overall, I like the products; they work well with Home Assistant.
As for the price, yeah, these seem to fluctuate and this seems to be the normal sale price, I don't think I've seen them lower then this.
