Had to dig to get some more details from this system, so just sharing here:

HP specs:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/prod...ku=4Z508UA

Screen: 13.3" diagonal, WUXGA (1920 x 1200), IPS, micro-edge, anti-glare, 400 nits, 100% sRGB
CPU: AMD Ryzen™ 7 5800U

USB C details: 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge)

Wireless
Realtek Wi-Fi 6 (2x2) and Bluetooth® 5.2 wireless card (supporting gigabit data rate) MU-MIMO supported; Miracast® compatible

Per the service manual, looks like memory isn't upgradable.

I had seriously been looking at an HP Pavilion Aero as a travel computer a long time. It isn't a typical Pavilion. Rather, it is amazingly light (<2.2 lbs) and compact, has a very good 13.3" screen (IPS, 400 nits, 1920 x 1200; higher resolution upgrade available), comes with USB-C w/PD & DP, and an HDMI port. In short, the Aero checked a lot of boxes. Alas, I was waiting for a Zen 4 CPU version, which hasn't happened.

The Aero model linked below has a Zen 3+ Ryzen 5 7535U CPU and is currently $479 at HP.com. It features the Radeon 660M GPU (RDNA2). IMO, it's a better laptop -- and deal -- than the one posted above even if it has a smaller 256GB SSD.

Appears you are correct. The Maintenance and Service Guide [hp.com] lists different part numbers for the 8GB and 16GB system boards. Frown

The model in the OP features a backlit keyboard which is a $20 upgrade for the configure-to-order laptop from HP.com, but agreeably that's still a better deal even with the smaller SSD.

I'm glad you found and posted the deal for the HP Pavilion Aero. It's a laptop worthy of consideration by someone looking for an extremely light laptop with decent chops. Hopefully Woot will get a few of these someday and offer them at a much lower price.

Good call on the $20 upgrade for the lighted keyboard on the HP.com model.

Granted the newer processor on the Aero at hp.com is attractive, but it's not like an order of magnitude difference. So why has this deal gotten thumbs-down when the deal at hp.com got like four thumbs-up (and back when the hp.com price was $550, not $479)?
