Regarding Dr. Elsey's litter; I find it to be of poor quality and wouldn't recommend it. About 2 years ago it was great but something changed in the formula/clay and now it's a soggy mess with poor clumping.

The best overall consistent bargain I found for litter is Special Kitty Odor Control Tight Clumping Cat Litter 40lb [walmart.com]. It's only $13 shipped and it works great, tight clumps and no nasty soggy mess like with Elsey's.

Special Kitty is my main litter now due to its affordability and acceptable quality. I'm always on the lookout for deals on Fresh Step however as it's the best I've found; I assume there's better though in high end pet stores/boutiques...
Thanks for the review. Wish it came in unscented, though. We used the previous Special Kitty for 16+ years, and "Fresh Scent" gets old.

Perhaps it's just me but it seems they pump the price back up to their regular "$70" a bag just to make you think 25% off is a good deal. Sorry but paying over $50 for a bag of 30lb blue buffalo isn't slick considering I picked one up a month ago from amazon out the door for under $30. These are gimmicky sales for the newbs.

It's normal price, they just jacked up the base price.
Deal comes out to $35 for 18lbs of the purina pro. That's normal price, considering it's $70 for a 35lb bag normally.

I use PPP and buy the 47 pound bags. No issues. Just store your food properly. Clean dry area and leave the food in the bag not in a bucket.
I leave the food in the bag, inside of a tightly sealed bucket. That way, the oils don't coat the bucket & go rancid.

I don't think this 25% off is all that great of a deal I got PPP for cats about 4-5 months ago for 30% off on Amazon, and I'm pretty sure the base price was a little lower. I guess if you need food now, and you can't get it for 35% repeat delivery at PetSmart, 25% is better than nothing.

Not seeing the slickness on this deal for Proplan. Current metro Detroit prices at TSC and Pet Supplies Plus are at $2 or less per pound for the 47-50lb bags. PSP usually has 10-30% discount coupons sent out monthly to those on their whatever club.

Thanks worked for me. I use the PPP for small dogs and only get the small bags since I've been told it has a shorter shelf life than other dog foods so a big bag would go bad. May be BS but I fell for it
I've messaged Purina specifically about this and they mention that as long as it's stored in an air tight container in it's original bag, the food will remain fresh for up to 6-8 weeks. After that it MAY become stale but won't necessarily be unsafe to it, just not desirable. It's best practice to finish the bag within 2 months. Many owners store it longer and it doesn't go rancid but I personally don't keep food for more than 2months because my picky dog doesn't eat stale kibble lol.

A few months ago, the best deal for PPP was from PetSmart for 50% off. Haven't seen anything better than that all year.

Here's the link to all the promotional items:

I used this discount yesterday so the link does show it's not available and it isn't available on a lot of these promos shown here. However some , including Dr. Elsey's Ultra Multi-Cat Strength Clumping Cat Litter still has the 25% off first subscribe and save showing for me, which I am definitely using.

Rant... I can't believe how expensive this food has increased. 30lb bag for sensitive stomach and skin had me for $75 last week.
