Anyway, I can't speak for this model in particular, but at least on my 800, you can still run a rinse cycle. You just have to do it in the app.

You can then set it as a favorite so that when you press the favorite button on the dishwasher it does a rinse or a self clean or whatever you selected.
100 is perfectly good, 800 is better, quieter, and more expensive. pick your evil.
I bought the 500 specifically because it automatically pops the door open after wash cycle to aid in drying. I run my dishwasher at night, when I wake up everything is 99% dry with the exception of a few droplets on some plastic items (this is without using rinse aid, so I would imagine with rinse aid it would dry better) .Absolutely no big deal for me and the good thing is you can now wash plastics on the bottom rack because there is no heating element to warp them.
The 500 is fantastic, only thing I wish it had which it doesn't is a rinse only cycle but also no big deal. Haven't even messed around with any of the wifi stuff, I'm very happy with the 500.

I initially regret the purchase because I didn't see the post about the 500 model at airport appliances for $100 more until after I ordered this. But this morning, I am thoroughly impressed.
I used the auto wash mode and dishes came out dry this morning after washing overnight including the plastic cups. I don't use the drying mode normally due to costs but this Bosch seems to have a "set and forget it" attitude as in it uses the most convoluted way to configure the wash cycles if you don't like the given preset ones. I think I will continue to use dry mode for now given it's just a fan and not a heating element, plus, I don't want to get into that menu system and get lost. We'll see what the electricity bill is.
My previous DW was rated at 60 db and this is 50 db. I don't know notice it being 10x quieter than my old one. The tines are very close together but you can fold them out of the way.
The only negative on this Bosch is there are zero indicator lights. Yes there are LED's indicating active cycle, drying, clean, and sanitize, but they are only lit when the door is opened. They are off when the door is closed??? (Yes the lights are hidden under the counter. I turned off all the lights in the kitchen to check because I thought I was crazy.) Perhaps I can configure it to turn on while running but it's not easy for this lamen to figure out how.
Summary, I'm happy with the purchase. Don't think I need to pay $100 for the 500 unless I need a third rack I suppose.

For maintenance its pretty simple:
1. Every month or so I take the screen out and clean it out with a brush. If some big food gets stuck on the screen, just take it out.
2. Every 2-3 months or so I use Affresh tabs. We have harder water, so YMMV. If its softer a few times a year will suffice to keep the plastics and coatings clean. This does not have a fully SS tub so it needs the tab IMHO to keep it sorted and it does.
3. If something gets in the impeller pump, fix it immediately otherwise you may have an issue.
As a tip you 100% should use rise aid (I bought industrial and make my own for $1 a bottle), and I also use Cascade complete liquid and put a shot in the tub with the regular pod and that dramatically keeps the dishes clean. A 120 oz bottle easily lasts over a year for $12, and is the best "pre-rinse" I have found and takes a few seconds.
The only thing that has worm out is the return pump which I received a replacement for $32 and it took me about 15 minutes to replace and the washer just hit 15 years.
My mother has the 800 which is quieter and my brother bought a $1200 LG. Both of them broke in the first year and the LG needed a full motor replacement. Apparently that isnt a common item but the bill was $800 back to LG -- more than I paid for mine.
Its personal but the cleaning power to the 800 is not dramatically different, the big difference (to me) is no utensil third tray which does reduce loading power a bit but not dramatically. So I wish I had it but not going to pay $500+ and added repair complexity.

I did tell my spouse we no longer need to crack the door open after a clean cycle and she correctly pointed out that the walls of the dishwasher are still wet. We still need to crack the door open. I stand corrected.
