FYI, v1 of these are available new for $650 for accessories4less. I would agree the dual apps are a strange setup but I can't say ive had connectivity issues others report. Very happy with them on my desk, Ive tried the ls50w IIs which are also awesome but total overkill on a desk imo.
Those are the first generation ones, big differences, especially in the amps.

Im between these and the kanto yu4 just because its at 270$ right now. Or just scrapping everything and getting kali lpv6 but i really dont have the space for them lol
It depends on your preferred sound signature. Kanto Yu4's only go as low as 60 Hz, so you definitely need a sub-woofer if you like bass. But I guess you can buy a decent sub-woofer under $200 to connect to the Kanto yu4s, and still get an excellent system that's cheaper than Vanatoo Encore plus.

Zeros go lower than Kanto Yu4s (52 Hz vs 60 Hz), but some people feel they may still need a sub-woofer. However, most people feel the transparent one encores don't need a subwoofer (they go as low as 40 Hz). But the good thing about Vanatoos is the manufacturer offers a 30-day test period. If you don't like them, you can return them, no questions asked.

Pretty sure the amps are the same for the lsx and lsx II in terms of power (70w woofer, 30w tweeter). I know the ls50wI to ls50wII saw a notable amp upgrade.

That being said there are reasons to consider spending the extra for the lsxII like better inputs, software, and dac.

There is no such thing as the best speaker. What sounds good for me may not sound good for you. It's all about preference. Each speaker brand has it's own sound signature.

Yes. Awesome speakers and the app is good. I have them. Don't listen to all these comments from folks that undoubtedly don't own and have never actually heard them. Do some YouTube research on them.

I own it and have no complaints. Id argue for the price you need to value the aesthetic and small size. Otherwise you can probably get similar performance cheaper.

Figured I'd mention the KEF LSX on accessories4less are down to $599 new. Could easily add a wiim mini if you wind up hating the old app and still be much cheaper than the LSXIIs.

While I don't doubt that these are more capable speakers, I think value per dollar that the Edifier 1280DBs speakers have to be mentioned.

At about $120 on sale, you get a 4" composite woofer with a 1/2" silk dome tweeter in a desktop friendly size. They have exceptional connectivity with a subwoofer output (that alters the crossover frequency of the main drivers for better performance), optical and RCA input, and Bluetooth.

They'd be really decent by themselves, but combined with a Dayton Audio SUB-1000L thrown under the desk, I don't believe there's anything as capable for $300 that is truly comparable (low profile, low cost, lot of inputs).

Have those and i think creative desktop speaker sound way better at a similar or low price point. Edifier are speakers alright but they are not audiophile grade. I don't think there is even a value proposition there. These are worth the money for sure. Edifier sound like crap compared to these.

Bought this open box on eBay, 0 issues with app and connectivity. Use WiFi and USB-C to computer. Bass is actually very good, too much for my townhouse in games.

I also bought a Sonos era 300. I have issues every single f'ing day with Sonos app.

How is the longevity of the amps? I bought The Nines from Klipsch a few months ago and the amp died literally in a month. I ended up just returning them as I then read speakers with built in amps just don't seem to last more than a few years if you're lucky.
Anyone had KEF amps die?
