Does anyone have any experience with this lens? Curious about the AF speed. Is the quality worth the weight?
This is one of the most popular lens when it came out. It was sold out for a long time and highly recommended by everyone. A quick search on youtube and you will find many people recommend this lens and many people use this for professional work like wedding.

I bought mine in Japan when it first came out since it was significantly cheaper and yeah it's worth the weight. It really is an all-in-one lens (I ended up selling my 28-75mm Tamron and 85mm Sony 1.8 prime). The quality/versatility of the build and the pictures are worth the premium cost. Really the only downside is that it is huge and heavy, but if you consider multi-lens setups then it's really not that much different. If you're bringing like a 28-75mm around it's already going to take some real-estate and weigh a bit more than a prime lens or phone camera that you can point and shoot, so the 35-150 isn't really that much worse of a setup.
I ended up picking up a 17-28mm tamron lens when I want to do more wide angle shots but for pretty much anything else I bring the 35-150.
Cannot wait to pair it with the A7IV I picked up a couple week ago with the edu promotion. Currently I am using Canon 70-200 F2.8 II with a sigma adaptor on the A7, the autofocus with center spot is OK. I know it's not a long time solution. Also i don't want to carry a separate 24-70 lens if possible. So this 35-150 is perfect. F2 at wider end is a bonus on top of all these. I like 82mm filter size, I think it's going to collect more light and help with the low light situation, definitely wouldn't hurt, (maybe except for your elbow/shoulder 😂, but I am up for it)
I passed up a deal on another Tamron lens BF/CM 2023. I had a hard time figuring out whether BuyDig was an authorized reseller. They claim they are (on their website), but they aren't listed on Tamron's website. Can anyone who ordered from BuyDig confirm whether Tamron recognized the 6-year warranty? (Tamron will extend the warranty in the US if you buy from an authorized dealer.)

I bought the samyang copy of this lens, it is really sharp. You can get the samyang for about $900-950 range.
It is a good lens but it is large, almost as large as the tamron 150-500.
I like it, but it's a jack of all trades, master of none. You'll always want wider or more reach and this only does something in between.
I now own the insanely sharp 20-70g, and the 150-500 for reach, neither are bright, so the 35-150 can fill that spot if needed. I also have the 85mm sony.
Too niche of a lens for very small group of business photographers. You can get away from this one with much cheaper lenses.
I won't consider this lens as niche, as it's probably the most versatile lens you can get for Sony E mount. You can get away with any lens with a set of prime lenses, as long as you don't mind carrying a few of them and changing them onto the camera back and forward frequently.

I've had this lens since July of '22. This is my everyday lens, the zoom range is very versatile and the quality of the photos are very good and super sharp. I upgraded from the 28-75 2.8. That being said for how convenient this lens is to me I think it's worth the weight.

ETA: BuyDig is not on Tamron's authorized dealer list, but Beach Camera (which has the same mailing address as BuyDig) is.
Excellent for any event type photography and even for some moderate amount of sports.
Not great for doing group shots, as it's not quite wide enough, but will pair up great with most any wide/ultra wide angle lens.
There is a Samyang/Rokinon copy thats much cheaper, but the autofocus is not as good and may have build quality issues, or greater copy deviations
