also not sure if it works, but pediatrician always recommends it.

Not that straightforward when you're dealing with toddlers. (Kids >4 years old). You can't just give them some Mucinex or equivalent and have them be fine in 20min. There's hardly any over the counter remedies for them that deals with congestion. And when you try to look into it they only recommend giving straight honey and using humidifiers. So parents with younger children don't have many options. This is one of the few. I personally just pay a few bucks for the bottle of honey for my toddler.

I guessed that Jamie's comment was genuine, albeit with a touch of abrasion or snark, depending on perspective. There's a potential they may not have childcare experience and only have knowledge of "granola" parents. Truth be told, I would have thought a similar line of question as them up until about 18 months ago. Man, was my world jarred when I came to find there's essentially nothing out there for common cold symptoms for the <2 ages. In my case, ignorance sure was bliss…

Don't be naive. This comes in a bottle from a factory, there's nothing natural about Zarbees. There's even a class action against them. Remember homeopathic products are not regulated by the FDA. There's a recent outbreak of children being overdosed on melatonin because of unregulated dosage levels. That was also Zarbees. For all you know this could be snake oil, the only testing on it is from anecdotal evidence 🙄

Your quotation doesn't say they recommend giving them this, just not to give them medication meant for older children.
Just because FDA doesn't regulate something doesn't mean it doesn't work or isn't good.

What you're describing now is a gamble or a lottery. When you put the words gamble and medicine together would you feed that to your child. Like come on. I studied pharmacology and medicine is the fine line between therapy and poison. There is no luck involved because of extensive studies and governing bodies like the FDA
