FYI, if your doctor will write you a prescription, you can get a 90 day supply from Amazon pharmacy for $12.35 (90 tablets) without insurance.
Insurance prices can actually be higher than retail, that's how they profit from you despite you thinking you're getting a discount (on very common drugs).
Tip to anyone else experiencing acid reflux from hyper acidity that leads to persistent dry cough & stomach irritation (GERD) : A cough drop or any other oral drop that generates more saliva helps a good deal. I take sugar free/low sugar drops immediately at the onset of hyper acidity and it takes care of all my symptoms. My cough stops and my stomach acid levels become manageable. Been doing it for years and its better than any other medicated alternative in the long term imo.
Unfortunately mine is food.

Whats your local supermarket pharmacy? Thats cheap!
So just get a RX from the Dr and then go to the Pharmacy (or Amazon) and tell them to fill it but Id like to just pay for it vs use my insurance? Do they call it in? Ive always assumed if the Dr did a call in, it would be linked to insurance. With the Local Pharmacy it makes sense to have a paper filled RX and get around the insurance, but no idea how that would work with Amazon.
That is through Shop Rite pharmacy and was called in from my doctor's office. The prescription goes through our insurance (BCBS low option) but the price is further reduced by Shop Rite.
PS: The pharmacists in our local Shop Rite are very helpful in ferreting out the best deals for us in this and other prescriptions as well (we have no financial or other interests with the store).
Fellow omeprazolers, I been taking this long term but my family members who are doctors say this is not good to take long term (not amazon version, in general). Been dealing with heart burn for 20 years. As soon as I stop taking it daily, it will come right back in less than a day. Anyone else in my boat? Just keep taking pill or go to doctor and get tube in throat to see reason...I know this ain't WebMD. Just asking
Me too! GERD runs in my family, and I've been on this since my late 20's. Twice a day.
I started taking apple cider vinegar capsules twice a day(not gummies) and now only need the omeprazole once a day. If I forget, I can make it 2 or 3 days before I NEED to start it regularly again.
So that's something…
