Is this a good deal? I see lots of people say they would buy a pc just like this if it had ddr5 and this has ddr5.

There have been better deals in the past, I believe. If you're OK building your own, you could come out cheaper with these specs or better at this price.

Either way, a few things to consider:
  1. Warranty is only 1 year, shortest for a pre-built PC. If you built your own, you would get more than that for most parts, respectively (CPU 3 years, mother board 2–5 years, GPU 2–3 years, PSU 5–10 years, etc.). For me, the warranty alone is reason to stay away. I would need at least 2 years.
  2. The GPU is the RTX 4060 w/ 8GB VRAM, which is bottom of the barrel or thereabout. Would still work fine for esports games where FPS is the be-all and end-all. But, for single-player gaming, where visual fidelity matters more, not recommended.
  3. The power supply is 650W, so if choose to upgrade the GPU in the future, you might have to also upgrade the PSU, depending on which GPU you go with.
  4. The SSD is gen 3 (not the fastest), for those who care. I don't care, but some do.
  5. The RAM is on the slow side, only 5200. They don't share latency, but I bet it's also on the slow side.
  6. Despite the pictures, the CPU cooler is a fan, not a liquid cooler. I prefer air cooling, but FYI to those seduced by the pretty pictures.

If you search for previous "RTX 4060 desktop" deals, you will see better values. The bigest negative here (in comparison to prior deals) is the older CPU. DDR5 doesn't make up for it.

The recent Costco deal, for example, was virtually the same price but came with twice the RAM, twice the storage and a newer CPU. Even at the regular price it's a better value at just over $1000. Even if you don't want to look for a better/different deal, I'd at least wait for Costco to hopefully drop the price again.

This is the Costco offering for $100 more that is a superior deal to OP's. Current gen processor. Twice the RAM (and DDR5). And twice the HD space. Is that worth $100 more? I bought this PC when it was on sale last month for $899.

Costco does manufacturer warranty + 2 years. There is value in the extended warranty.

The i7 32g version was on sale for $840 yesterday. Idk why it was so low, but I've noticed the price fluctuate up and down over the past two days.
