Bought one last month when they were on sale and I am loving it. Was really concerned that I should have paid a little more for the 4060 but I am not running it on a 4K monitor so the 4050 is fine for what I need. Running Starfield with no issues. It is loud while gaming but that is certainly to be expected with any gaming laptop. Thermals seem pretty good. Headphones on and you cannot hear it while gaming. Shipping was a little slow. The 2 year warranty helped ease my concerns of the refurb (even though mine arrived looking brand new just in a standard cardboard box).

I have the Best Buy Asus TUF 16" 7735/7600S laptop from a couple of months back. Been working well, but this one has a slightly better CPU, slightly better panel, and TB4.

One could argue the 4050 is slightly behind the 7600S, depending on the title (and whether or not DLSS and/or frame generation is leveraged).

I have no experience with Acer laptops, but am considering returning the Asus in favor of this. Anyone care to put in their two cents? I have another 10 days to return the Asus.

I bought this for my kid when it was $675. Hinges are fine. It's a fairly decent laptop. Screen is nice.

I bought a refurbished Acer off of eBay last year. The 2 year warranty made it a better decision than a brand new one with a one year warranty

Great price. It's rare to see a gaming laptop with a current-gen CPU, GPU, and a good screen for this cheap.

Got this for $674 on the earlier post. No issues, looked brand new, and had the 2 year warranty. For the price it offered me all that I needed for video editing or light gaming. The 400 NITS bright screen is awesome.

I'm deciding between these three 16" laptops. Which one would you choose?

1. ASUS TUF A16: 16" FHD+ 165Hz, Ryzen 7 7735HS, RX 7700S, 16GB DDR5, 512GB SSD $829.99

2. Acer Predator Helios Neo (Cert. Refurb): 16" FHD+ 165Hz, i5-13500HX, RTX 4050 (140W), 16GB DDR5, 512GB SSD $689.99

3. Dell G16 7620 Laptop: 16" QHD+ 165Hz, i7-12700H, RTX 3060, 16GB DDR5, 1TB SSD $765

#2 is the way to go if you care about the value your money gets you.

Well…the 7700S should actually be faster across the board versus the 4050, but it's sort of an uncommon GPU and is hard to find info on.

If gaming is the priority, I'd say option 1. Edit: but then it's also more expensive, so…depends on what that extra performance is worth to you.
