I got my first photo speeding ticket last month because I was speeding 7 mph over in a school zone. Other than being more cognizant of the speed limit signs, what can I do to avoid this? I know with traditional speeding tickets, you can get a radar detector, but I can't think of anything for this. Below is the description of how it works in my city.

"The speed cameras operate by using digital signal processing and in-ground point-to-point loop detectors to make multiple measurements of a vehicle as it passes through the school speed zone. The vehicle's speed is calculated based off the time it takes to travel between the loop detectors. The cameras are connected to the school zone beacons and only operate when the beacons are flashing. If the beacons are not flashing, then drivers will not be issued citations."

You could try one of the highly reflective license plate covers, overexposes the image.
If they can't identify the vehicle & who owns it, they can't issue a ticket.
OTOH, you might claim someone had borrowed the car / you weren't driving the car.
WHO ?? My friend had the keys, but he claims.........yadda yadda yadda
