From the box:
"Instructions: Use care when placing ice into the glass to avoid fracturing the inner layer. If possible, add ice after the liquid. Avoid the use of automatic ice dispensers."
I've had these before (also saw them in club for $14.97) but they eventually break because of how thin they are. I do like them though, but consider them temporary. It's also not fun when you break one loading it into the dishwasher and have to pick up pieces of thin transparent glass out of the bottom of the dishwasher.
Got these last month from the local store. Got home, opened the box and 1 in the box was totally crushed. Returned it. Didn't buy again.
The glass is too thin. Probably why they have the warning sign about not adding ice cubes with no liquid in the cup.

I've had these for a year - much more expensive but stable and have not broken.

Walls are very thin and ours cracked upon 1st use, hand washed. Also, the double wall does not serve as insulation. You still feel the coldness of the drink through the cup's exterior wall. And yes, there are specific instructions on how to place ice in the cup to prevent damage. Would not recommend this product.

One store near me had these for $14.95 and another in the same market had them for $9.97. Yes these are fragile glasses, but for adults who are into latte's and mocha's by brewing these at home these are great glasses.

Anything cold will sink to the bottom of the glass and causes a thermal separation. That's just normal physics with air type insulated glass.

Dishwasher safe, well rinse these and go and they clean up well. For this price they are a great buy.

Take a look at the retail price of these at Williams Sonoma or online and you'll quickly realize that these are $10-$20 per glass elsewhere.

These are for someone making drinks where it's just as important to show off the drink as it is to taste it!

Daily cups for the office where they will be bumped yea Stanley or Ceramic.

Thanks OP!

Bought these a couple weeks back on sale. Very happy with them so far. Seem fairly sturdy and I've run them through the dishwasher a few times.

I had a similar experience when I purchased their "BODUM Pour Over Coffee Maker Grip, 8 Cup, 34 Ounce, Double Wall Cork" last year. The inner wall was extremely fragile, plus Bodum's packaging was so poor, that they basically invited damage during shipment...which is exactly what happened. I contacted Bodum, and their support was just as bad as their packaging. They are NOT even close to the same company (ie, quality & customer service) that I experienced growing up and into my early adult years, even when applying a 'curve' for the overall degradation of quality across the board, sadly.

There's a silicone opening on the bottom. It must be opening in the heat of the dishwasher and letting water in. Faulty design for dishwasher safe. Hand rinsing should be okay.
Nah, probably bad from the factory. I've have 18 Bodum cups. (not this design, but has the gasket). I took em out of the box and put em in the dish washer. One leaked.

The other 17 have never leaked in 2 years of fairly regular dishwasher use.

bought this about 2 months ago. only took 2 out of the box to use. both are already broken now. I babied them, but ultimately you can't control how others in your household will use them, so unless you're single and live by yourself, these are most definitely more disposable than reusable.

After a bad customer service experience for a Bodum product I bought directly from them, I try to avoid them and have been successful in doing so for a couple years now. I have been looking for a deal on these double walled glass mugs so seeing the negative feedback here just makes it even less appealing to pick up another Bodum.

Maybe I'm crazy but somehow my coffee never tastes good in these. Somehow it tastes much better drinking out of certain ceramic mugs. I think it's the clay or glaze or something in those mugs..
Yes the heavy ceramic mug does work wonders if one pours hot freshly brewed coffee from the ceramic mug to preheat the ceramic mug; then I simply pour the coffee from the ceramic mug back into the coffee carafe and then pour some new fresh hot coffee from the coffee carafe back into the ceramic mug; doing it this way helps the coffee retain the heat for at least a solid hour; thus the freshly brewed coffee does in fact tastes much better for much longer; so its definitely not in ones imagination.

These have been 9.97 for several weeks and quite a few left at two locations near me, plan on waiting it out to see if the managers will slash the price to clear them out
