FYI, for certain airline like Air China, carry on limit is 11 lbs and and Mother Lode Rolling Travel Backpack by itself is already 9.6lbs. Many other airlines carry on limit is 15 lbs.

It is comfortable, but if it's a long flight with multiple transfers , you wish it has wheels
I saw a review that said that you should think of it primarily as a roller which you can turn into a backpack when you need in certain areas vs a backpack you occasionally roll, if that makes sense.
I'm getting mine tomorrow. Definitely not speedy at all but not horrible.
