The reviews on the best buy refurbished dji drones are not good. As long as you know going in there's a high probability you'll have to return it and you're ok with that, then no harm in playing the lottery
FYI, third-party refurbished drones such as this are not eligible for the DJI Care Refresh replacement plans. Official DJI-refurbished models (from their site or official eBay store) are eligible.
There are too many horror stories from Best Buy's refurbs. From being bound to gimbals not working or to a flat broken arm. It's obvious they don't check them when they're returned.

You can typically talk with customer service and they'll manually approve these for Refresh plans. I've been through this with three DJI drones. They will require photos and a video flight test. It also works to enable you to purchase Refresh after the original Refresh purchase window on a new DJI drone has expired.
The bigger problem is when these come bound to the original owners account. That's a huge pain to deal with even though customer support can usually open a case to have that removed as well. Plan on providing photos, receipt, and waiting a week or more. Just make sure you do it with the return window because they may refuse or reject it on a whim as well.
Just to add a data point, I got a DJI FPV last year from BBY and it came with a memory card in it. There was a recording of someone in a geek squad shirt looking over the drone. Drone flys great and have had zero issues with it. Card isn't worth a ton but heck, it'll take it.

Employees are underpaid. What do you expect? If you worked for one of these places I bet you wouldn't do a thorough check of every return.

I flew my refurb a few days ago, from the first deal post on 12/24... The remote was still logged into previous owner with some videos (I think it showed 20km total flight), but overall looked good and was able to login to my account no problem.
I have best buy total membership so I think I get the warranty from there... May not be as good as DJI care though.

Same here. Drone looked like new and not even flown. Great deal as you can't find many discounts on the 4's yet.
I got a mini 3 pro from geek squad refurb and had read all the warnings about it being bound to the previous owner's account, etc. The unit I got was not bound so I registered it and it worked fine. It had all the accessories like extra propellers etc. unopened.
The only weirdness was that I later figured out that it included a single extended battery (the one from the fly more combo) and not the standard battery. So it doesn't technically meet the 249g requirement since the battery is heavier. But I got a better more expensive battery with it.
I am the OP for the previous deal. I got my drone delivered today. Everything is included and in pristine condition. There was no account binding and I was able to bind my account easily. Still have about 10 months warranty left. Submitted video proof for DJI care refresh and got approved within 6 hours. YMMV
I grabbed the basic $729 kit last week as the others were OOS.
All the comments on various threads had me worried.
Drone arrive today in original box, no accessories opened, no flight hours on the drone and 1 cycle on the battery. Was able to link to my account no problem.

Played the lottery. Let's see what I get when received.
