- Normal Warranty: Apple will pay to have it fixed or replaced for free (not including service and labor costs)
- AppleCare+ : You only pay $29. Rest is covered by apple.
Damage done by you:- Normal warranty: no coverage
- AppleCare+ : You only pay $29. Rest is covered by apple.
Hope this help.Note: I am not fan of AppleCare+ - mainly because I trust apple hardware and I trust my handling of devices.

I once (long time ago) bought a major brand stereo system from a local electronics retailer. It didn't work right. Two more trips to the retailer's local stores resulted in a total of three faulty systems. Then I went to a major nationwide electronics chain who sold the same stereo system for more. It worked perfectly. I noticed the following:
- The faulty ones were made in Malasia; the good one in Japan.
- The electronic board's layout (as seen through the vents) were obviously different in the Malasian build vs. the Japanese build.
- The Malaysian version had the same model number. And no, they weren't obvious fakes.
Here is the kicker: The local electronics chain (who always undercut the major retailers) was rumored to sell lower quality stuff vs. the major nationwide retailers. It proved true in my experience. Two different factories + two design variations + possibly lax quality control resulted in lower quality batch.Sign up for a Slickdeals account to remove this ad.
I cancelled my Amazon order and picked it up from Costco yesterday
Was it same price or cheaper since no shipping was involved?
No, since the item model numbers are different
If you are on the fence on which model of AirPod to get I would highly recommend to just save a bit extra and go with the pro over the regular gen 2 or 3 model. The only real reason I see people going with the non pro models (besides price) is that they prefer the looser in ear placement of the regular models vs. having to use the silicon tips but that's a total personal preference, I have no issue whatsoever with the silicon tips.
Price till 1/8 with free shipping. Has 5% non membership fee if you are not the member + your regular tax

That's what I'm leaning towards, not worth my time in those long return lines at my local store. I tried chatting with their automated chat online and was denied the price adjustment because I'm past the 30 days. I don't think I even want to call to request a one time exception because it's only $10, I might want to save my 'one time exception' for a bigger price difference on day if they do keep track of that stuff and it's truly one time.
