Seems to me like someone just stole our Hilton Honors login information. Logging in at https://www.hilton.com still shows me at the lowest tier, not Silver.

Personally I think Hilton has the weakest tier recognition. The breakfast fiasco from last year -- where they took away the free breakfast perk in exchange for a lousy property credit was the last straw for me. I suspect this is largely due to the AMEX Aspire card, which sells top-tier Diamond status for $550.

Generally, rewards programs aside, I think Hilton excels at the lower levels (Hamptons, Homewoods, etc) versus Marriott and Hyatt. Their brands are really consistent, hotels are generally well kept, etc. At the higher levels, think LXR, Curio, Conrad, etc... Hilton almost always disappoints me. The hotels in this range are either really tired, have borderline service, or are new-ish with impressive lobbies but cheap-o rooms that were slapped together.

I went to Hyatt and I haven't looked back. Totally get that doesn't work for everyone given their footprint, but it has worked for me.

Seems legit to me. Navan is a business travel portal service and Eloqua is the marketing firm that provided the perk, both are mentioned in the URL tracking parameters. I guess time will tell

Nice. I was planning to apply for a Hilton credit card just to get silver so that I could get the 5th night free perk and now I don't need to. I can go ahead and start planning/booking a big trip.

Also have an upcoming stay and that free bottled water will actually be really nice for this particular day (theme park visit).

Silver and Gold status won't get you jack in terms of upgrades, and many of the mid- and lower-tier chains don't upgrade anyone. I've been Diamond for years and about the only time we get upgrades is when we fly Internationally.

Oh, you also still get free breakfasts overseas, too.

Looks like the status match is currently inactive but FYI up until recently you could go to https://www.frontierstatusmatch.com/ and match your status through partners including Hilton Honors to other rewards programs.

I had Hilton Gold status through my Amex Platinum and matched that to Frontier Elite 50k/Platinum which included a carry-on and checked bag, and seat selection. I'm assuming Hilton Silver status would probably match up with Elite Gold which still has a free checked bag, though I can't check for sure since the match is currently inactive. Still, not a bad deal for something free, if/when they bring it back.
Weird I'm Hilton Diamond and it only gave me elite 50k and that doesn't include checked bag or discount den. I'm not sure I'd fly frontier anyway and it's a $99 fee.

I did the same after being Hilton diamond; 1+ years ago switched to Hyatt, has better everything, just more limited properties

Also curious. It redirects to hilton.com but I can't find any authoritative DNS lookup info on the domain... Quite sketchy. I've been scammed by a Hilton website lookalike before too. I changed my password on Hilton.com after I navigated to that Navan website.
it says the promo is thru them.

Thanks for this. I see this on my account, although it's listed twice. Makes me feel better about my account not being stolen from this promo (still changed my password though). However, I still don't see my status at silver and it's been overnight. Curious if you see your status updated and if you did anything else?

Free is free, but Marriott and Hilton's reward programs both massively suck compared to 10-20 years ago.

Thoughts on Hilton vs Marriott? I do about 60 nights a year and have titanium status with Marriott. Wondering if it's worth the swap to Hilton.
It really depends on what is available where you go most. I go all over the country so either worked for me but I had better experiences with Marriot. Mostly nicer lounges. I just got lifetime platinum and I'm glad I stuck with them.

Another reason I stuck with Marriott was status on United. Even though boarding group 1 is half the plane there are still some overhead spots left for group 2. You need titanium but 60+15 for the credit card you'd be good.
