A quick deal search shows this regularly goes on sale for 300 and down to 279 before so this is 20 off.. Not sure how great of a deal it is

Okay SD'ers let's see if you can help me. I'm a Jr. audiophile, the know it when I hear it, but am not willing to spend 5k for a setup. I like the sound out of my LG SK9Y for cinema and audio is okay but it's aging and the woofer goes out occasionally. How would this compare to that? Thanks so much!

I know you said you're not willing to spend $5k, but if you're willing to spend $800-900, suggest you look for a deal on the Q990C vs this slim soundbar. While the S800B is good for its size, it's no comparison to something like the Q990C.

I have this and it worked fine with a tcl tv, but it disconnects from a hisense every half hour or so (I don't like this tv.) Another major annoyance is that there's no pass thru, so…that's one less functional input to use.

Samsung is an upgrade over the LG especially if you want to crank it up
