It can be transformed into a 5.1 system by adding Samsung's SWA-9500S wireless rear speakers.

Is this $1000 MSRP a joke?

A quick deal search shows this regularly goes on sale for 300 and down to 279 before so this is 20 off.. Not sure how great of a deal it is

Sounds like the deal might be dead. Just got back from Costco and their version, the HW-S80CB is $599. Also like to add that if you're also purchasing the 9500s speakers, these are 2.0.2 channel (atmos) making the total system 5.1.4.

I may get the atmos rears since I could mount them higher and bounce atmos off my vaulted ceiling. I see the open boxes at BB for non Atmos rears too, a lot cheaper. I want to test out the SB before buying BB rears. I might be blown away, haven't had a decent audio setup in ages.

It's been so long since I've messed with a surround system. I'm not really that interested in Atmos music, but since the rears give you 2 channels for rears as well as 2 channels of top firing Atmos, how does music sound with this?
Do the rears play anything at all if it's 2 channels? Can the app be setup to mirror the front left and right?
I know that isn't a "proper" listening experience but it would be a nice option

Mine came in today. Buydig and FedEx ships super fast. The packaging is a very odd shape, but everything arrived safely and in perfect working order.

Sound is very good but I haven't had time to do much testing or listening yet. The sound bar itself is very long, but thin and lightweight. Almost as long as my 55" OLED TV. Woofer is very compact and has good slam, rumble, and thump for such a small unit.

Only thing I don't like is that HDMI ARC is the only wired connection method. Wish it had optic and HDMI eARC too.

lack of due diligence here, I just assumed optical in on all soundbars. Thanks for the info, hope the pros outweigh the cons. I don't want to mess with another app but it might come in useful. I'm not a big movie nut or audiophile. Main factor is issues with evil HDCP HDMI 2.2 errors so this might just add to my headache.

I'm an audiophile but I don't care as much about audio perfection when watching TV, movies, or playing games. If I want better quality audio when watching TV, I'll just connect my FiiO BTR7 to Apple TV and use my headphones or IEMs.

This sound bar is made for people who want good sound quality when using their TV but want to keep the sound gear footprint to a minimum. It's not made for home theater nuts who must have loseless audio when watching 4K Blu-Ray or playing on their console/PC.

While having optical connection would be nice, Atmos signal can't be transmitted through that format. Like I said, wish this sound bar had eARC and optical, but at this price, I can live without it. At this price, it's a steal for the sound quality this thing produces. Applause

thanks repped... I have small space so this should be ample sound for my little cabin. One of my favorite things is youtube Big Wave videos with the thumpin' base on the floor. The fact that I can add speakers as the budget allows is a big plus. I hope to be simplifying things here as I get older. Home theater is like a little hobby but I'm on a tight budget. Living it up though, makes isolation easier out here in the boonies.

So I just got this in the mail and I was sent the s80cb any difference bet the 2? I see some posted the cb is the costco version of this but wondering if any other differences? Is the bezel supposed to be included in the same box or shipped seperately?

The Costco page specifically mentions that a teak bezel is included, otherwise they are the exact same.
The bezel should be packaged with the sound bar

I just set mine up. I haven't mounted it to the wall yet, its currently on top of my other soundbar. The Woofer paired right away and bluetooth connection to my older Samsung TV was easy.

The only thing I do not like about it is, the volume shows on the TV screen it just does not say what number it is at like my old one. Guess the kids might be woken up tonight when we are watching our shows lol. Defiantly an upgrade in my small amount of testing that I did.

My two back speakers will be coming in tomorrow and I will reply back once I have them hooked up and working.

Got mine today. It's the Costco version and significantly smaller than the Klipsch Cinema 600.
