I didn't downvote you, my man. My point is that some folks, like myself, prefer owning the physical discs. Owning digital has its perks but also its own risks.

I'm a big PC gamer but when I still had a Switch I would only buy physical because I can be so picky about the games I like. With a physical copy you can normally recover 80%-130% (if you get a good deal) of the purchase price when selling the game again on eBay but a digital copy is non-transferable. Don't like the game = money down the drain. Steam at least has a 2 hour refund window but that isn't always enough time to get the feel of a game and the prices on Steam can be higher than other markets so you are kinda paying a surcharge for the ability.

Not to mention taking the game to a friend's house, trading / borrowing, sharing between consoles not registered to the same user, etc.

So yes, there is still plenty of reason to buy physical...when available.

I know this is one of the most highly regarded series but I tried playing 1 a few weeks ago and found it to be painfully linear with every fight being staged to the point of feeling scripted (even if they weren't scripted). Also the 50/50 cut scenes vs play time ratio also turned me off. I will say there were no QTE (I saw at least), which was a big plus.

Yeah and? Didn't have to down vote it. Not everybody cares about physical media. It's on its way out anyway. So...

Don't get it. They got rid of Miranda's big …. They edited the game for that, stick with the original

If you can't touch it; you don't own it. Period.

When a game is delisted, you will 'own' nothing.

If they ever foolishly end the sale of physical media, it will be a short lived mistake.

Totally agree. Tried on game pass, not my cup of tea.

Sadly I don't think it will be a short lived mistake. I mean I hope it is, and I prefer physical bc of all the reasons mentioned above….owning, borrowing, selling etc

But with things like game pass and such I see games one day going Netflix style.

It's why we see consoles coming out cheaper with disc less. You first get the low hanging fruit, then try to lure everyone one else, then force the last group.

I think the next consoles are really going to incentivize the purchase of disc less consoles.

Hope I'm wrong!!!!

I like disc but unfortunately it not going to be produced or supported for next 1-2 gen.

Sony made the disc drive as an afterthought which isn't a good sign of their direction. It sad but not surprising. I'm gonna keep my older offline gaming console as a preservation. Yes it has that time bomb thingy making it brick in the distance future unfortunately but I just wanna enjoy it while it last. Life is good.

The first one is really rough around the edges. The second is huge step up in every way. I don't remember even noticing the problem you are mentioning when I played the first game a decade ago, so I'm not sure whether or not the second one fixes that particular issue, but I will say that Mass Effect 2 is leaps and bounds better than the original.
