I have old pairs I use all the time that feel great and durable. In today's market whenever I buy non workout shorts and pants like Khakis, etc, they are consistently sturdy feeling. I can get workout sweat pants that are pretty good as well.
Everytime I order new workout shorts (I keep trying all the big brands, Adidas, under armor, etc) from Amazon, etc, they always feel like toilet paper quality fabric/plastic that you'd expect to find from an ebay knockoff brand. At this point I'd consider manually cutting some sweat pants to reduce the length so that I can get acceptable feeling shorts.

Yeah which is a dealbreaker for me. These shorts are great except for that.
Problem for me is that keyrings get caught/snagged in the pockets very easily and they're so fragile they easily rip. Now I have like 4 pairs of shorts with holes in the pocket I carry my keys and wallet in. No bueno
