Ham and beans of course! White bean chili to name another. Can be used in most any recipe that calls for beans.

Pretty good deal, these are $1.28/can at Wally World. With 15% S/S comes out to 85 cents a can for me.

The ingredients are: Prepared Great Northern Beans, Water, Salt and Calcium Chloride (Firming Agent). The later ingredient isn't all that great for you so if you have an instant pot you can buy the dried beans and make them from scratch (soak in water overnight) for even cheaper (each can of beans is the equivalent of 3/4 cup dried). https://practicalselfreliance.com...ern-beans/

Whoa, there horsey. A can has 1.645 grams of sodium. Add that to the salt that's in that ham and you're a walking high BP aggravated heart attack. Anyone who's ever weighed out any cocaine on a scale knows just how much 1.645 grams is. It's a lot. Why can't they sell unadulterated beans without all the ultra-processed crap?

And, oh yeah, all the fiber benefit they're touting? A whopping 28 grams. And the protein? Beans have a lot of protein, right? 24.5 grams.

Like all processed food these days, our government allows them to sell unhealthy crap, so they do.

I don't think this is a great price. Great Northern Beans are regularly $1/can at the grocery store. Granted, the Bush brand probably isn't that price, but we're talking about beans. They don't taste significantly different than the store brand.

I mean, the price might save you a few cents, but you would also have 12 cans of beans to stick somewhere in your pantry.
