It's $29.99 in store. Can't wait for comments from flashlight gurus.

Considering there are no specs, the opinion won't be good. A quality light would list the details. BLF and candlelight make no mention of it, so it's not a contender.

It's probably a perfectly serviceable flashlight. Not sure in this day and age why it has to be so big. And heavy (3.2 lbs - seriously?) Unless you're entertaining some fantasy about using it like a baton for self defense.

That looks like some kind of proprietary rechargable battery pack though, instead of something like one or two 18650 batteries. That's a non-starter for me.

Costco is one of the more trustworthy retailers out there. If it says 5k Lumen I believe it will be 5k Lumen. The fact that it's dual power leads me to believe the Costco buyers had a hand in it and know what their boomer customers want.

I became a Costco super-fan back in 2013 when a neighbor friend of mine told me how difficult it was to please the picky and stringent Costco buyers. He sells sheets and towels to other big box retailers and many hotel chains. He tried selling to Costco and he was breaking even selling bath towels with the hope that he could make a small profit on the matching hand towels. Ultimately he had to stop selling there because the standards for quality were so high he couldn't make money.

Yep. This post sums it up nicely. I saw this in store and the size along with the AA battery configuration made it a non-starter for me. Not sure why Costco keeps going to these massive baton style flashlights, e.g. Duracell, Coast, Infinity. I'd rather see something like the rechargeable tactical/pocketable flashlights a la Sorfirn, Olight, Thrunite. I'm still not all that impressed with Costco's three-pack cheap label 1,000 lumen offerings. They are fine to store in the glovebox of the car, but not something I'd want to take on a walk in the dark.

as others have mentioned it likely explains the fantasy someone will use it for that purpose, the 2000s police flash lights. Because we all know no one is walking around with that thing for light. From its size its more suitable as a powerbank, even a car jump starter with detachable leads to be kept in the glove box.

I would say no. It does not have strobe mode.

I have the Feit version of this flashlight. The thing is big and heavy and not that bright comparing to Sofirn. The thing I dislike most is the zoom focus - with normal flashlight, the beam gets brighter as you zoom in; not with this type - same brightness just a different size circle of illumination. I think people buying this will soon return them to Costco.

Like I said before - I have the Feit version of this. It is not good for self defense since it is kinda tail heavy, even with a slightly larger head than this Costco version. Maybe carry a brick along with this for self defense laugh out loud

ElatedHealth6110 correctly answered your question. It's both depending on where you buy (in store or online).

$29.99 in store (see pics below) YMMV of course, it's possible your local Costco doesn't carry this
$39.99 CostCo.com

Costco B&M and Costco.com inventory and prices don't always match, this is a prime example.
