I was ok paying $15-20 a month but with all this splintering of content, BS changes (the HBO merger and downgrade to reality shows because of the new CEO), and ads on top of premium membership.?

At times (every 3 weeks) paramount + keeps loading with black screen, at that time, I disable pihole for 30 secs. And when it loads up to play an ad, I just restart the app and I am good for the next few weeks
Anyway if you use Instacart and a Chase card I'd suggest going through the Instacart+ route as you get Peacock bundled + a lot of benefits and if you qualify you can even get the entire thing for $19/year - https://slickdeals.net/f/17087662-ymmv-1-year-of-instacart-for-19
I couldnt stand hulu ads version when i had a free trial but peacock isn't so bad.
Especially movies. I watched "the holdovers" the other day.
They give you two minutes or so of ads in the beginning and then dont bother you for the rest of the movie.

If you look at other services, provided they stop offering free trial workarounds, I'd never subscribe to them. Apple+ is $10/month now, Paramount+ is $11.99 without ads and again not worth it. The very limited exclusive shows means if you have Netflix or combo of other services, you probably have access to bulk of Paramount+ library.
Netflix is getting too expensive, but they always have something new to watch.
Max? Regular price expensive, but it might be worth it for some. Recent black friday deal of $2.99/mo for 6 months with ads? Great deal. Max has the least amount of ads for shows, but movies have ads spread out which is upsetting.

Most tv shows and movies for FREE. I use the first link the most, just make sure you have popup blocker on.
