I signed up for a black friday deal for peacock only to find out they now lock The Office (and tons of other content) behind a higher "tier". To heck with those shenanigans.
Hard pass on any streaming service that has ads, regardless of the price. Shoot, even their top tier still has ads.
Welp, time to buy a couple of hard drives and learn how to torrent then.

I was ok paying $15-20 a month but with all this splintering of content, BS changes (the HBO merger and downgrade to reality shows because of the new CEO), and ads on top of premium membership.?

Y'all did this to yourselves, streaming services

Wait what? So if you buy the 5.99 month plan there is lots of content you can't view unless you pay the higher tier?
No, they were mistaken. I'm on the premium tier and have everything available except offline downloads, my live nbc local and no ads during movies and tv shows.

I thought xfinity discontinued that last year
You have to have one of their higher tiers of service to get Premium free. They got rid of the premium for everyone deal

I have no success with Hulu/disney/freevee however, peacock and paramount + work just fine.

At times (every 3 weeks) paramount + keeps loading with black screen, at that time, I disable pihole for 30 secs. And when it loads up to play an ad, I just restart the app and I am good for the next few weeks
Solid info - really appreciate it

This used to be free through crapcast/xfinity but they don't do that anymore.

Anyway if you use Instacart and a Chase card I'd suggest going through the Instacart+ route as you get Peacock bundled + a lot of benefits and if you qualify you can even get the entire thing for $19/year - https://slickdeals.net/f/17087662-ymmv-1-year-of-instacart-for-19
Thanks for this. I needed Peacock for the upcoming NFL games. With my Chase Sapphire Reserve card, I got Instacart+ for free for a year (which includes Peacock). Plus I get $15 in statement credit/month on qualifying purchases, so may actually start using Instacart. Win win!

i got it on black friday also and coupled with the amex offer, i think that made it $24.
I couldnt stand hulu ads version when i had a free trial but peacock isn't so bad.

Especially movies. I watched "the holdovers" the other day.
They give you two minutes or so of ads in the beginning and then dont bother you for the rest of the movie.

What about Yellowstone? Is it on the cheaper or premium?
You can watch Yellowstone on Paramount+ too. At least Paramount+ is free per month if you know how to cancel and renew each month.

Geez, six pages of moaning about $5.99/month that you can take or leave. I'd say ala carte is working just fine. I always love the complaints "I won't pay for television services with ads." Did you ever subscribe to cable TV?

It's all opinions. Peacock is pretty good for reduced cost. $20 or $30 per year is good deal.

If you look at other services, provided they stop offering free trial workarounds, I'd never subscribe to them. Apple+ is $10/month now, Paramount+ is $11.99 without ads and again not worth it. The very limited exclusive shows means if you have Netflix or combo of other services, you probably have access to bulk of Paramount+ library.

Netflix is getting too expensive, but they always have something new to watch.

Max? Regular price expensive, but it might be worth it for some. Recent black friday deal of $2.99/mo for 6 months with ads? Great deal. Max has the least amount of ads for shows, but movies have ads spread out which is upsetting.
Paramount+ premium for $35 1 year. Includes the SHO obviously. Lots of sports stuff on the sportsline if you're into that too

Yeah I tried the whole torrent setup but I just couldn't find a good program and UI that makes it easy for my kids to pick out their shows and episodes

Most tv shows and movies for FREE. I use the first link the most, just make sure you have popup blocker on.

I did the same offer and don't have any issues. When did you notice this?
