A note about Walmart return via Fedex option.
Today I received two emails from Walmart. First one reads, "Your refund is on its way. Sorry things didn't work out. We've initiated a refund and wanted to provide a quick overview for you." Then a few hours later, I received a second email "Refund cancellation …Unfortunately, the items we received didn't match your return request. Your return has been canceled, and your original payment method has been charged $XXX.XX again for the items you were refunded for."
I called Walmart customer helpline and was told the exact same thing as the email and to send in the correct item which was impossible because I've already sent them the correct item. Walmart won't tell me what item was received and refused to send back the original item back to me. So my only option left is a credit card chargeback.
Safest return option is to wait in line at Walmart.

How to Redeem Walmart Cash for In-store purchase
1. Using the Walmart app in store, sign into your Walmart account
2. At the register or self-checkout, scan the on-screen QR code to connect your account. To scan you may use either the scanner in the Walmart app located in the search bar, Walmart Pay, or if you have the Walmart app downloaded, you can also scan with your native phone camera.
3. Tap "Use Walmart Cash" to redeem your current balance for a Walmart e-gift card to be applied against the purchase price & select how you would prefer to pay for any remaining amount (if applicable). If your Walmart Cash balance is less than your basket total (excluding prohibited items), your full Walmart Cash balance will be redeemed for an e-gift card and applied towards your basket total. If your Walmart Cash balance is greater than your basket total, only that necessary portion of your Walmart Cash balance will be redeemed for an e-gift card and applied towards the basket total.
There is no minimum order threshold for regularly shipped orders, same as Prime.

However, I'm not a regular in-store Walmart shopper. Are there genuinely good deals throughout the year? I typically use Amazon to supplement my supermarket/Costco trips.
