Sponsored or not, I have been using a set of these for the last year with no issue. More than once I've thought it would be nice if I had another for my truck box, just to forget. So thanks for the reminder and the deal!

very interesting video. I suppose you get what you pay for. As other stated, this $27 torque wrench is probably good for the part time diy people.
I disagree. Getting reliably accurate torque is just as important for DIYing as working professionally. As long as the work is done correctly, your car doesn't care who's working on it.

well, we all want the best, but considering the price point of $27. It is just as good as the ones that cost many times more according the video. I think I am ok to have my wheels torqued at 88 lbs instead of the set 85 lbs, and have $100+ cash in my pocket.

I suppose you wouldn't use this if one is working on the SpaceX rocket, but that's a different story.

If all you're doing is lug nuts, then Lexivon will probably be sufficient.

However, the Harbor Freight ones are cheaper (and sometimes go down to $12).

I bought one from HF more than a decade ago, and it's been ok. However, I've read that the current $20 HF (not the Icon) models are not good at all.

Again, I use it on my cars when needed. I just don't see the need to spend well over $100's just to get a couple of percentage points on accuracy

Darn, missed this. Tried today and code not working for the 15 piece bike set. Didn't try the others.

If you plan to use a torque wrench daily, these probably aren't for you. If you use a torque wrench once and awhile to tighten lugs/bolts, then this might just be what you need.

I had one of these and it didn't always "click". Found out the hard way and ended up over torquing a screw on my fork and needed a new damper. I only use beam style torque wrenches now (I own two, a high and low torque wrench).

Cheap torque wrenches are great until they're not.

I am in the market for a torque wrench. I read 83 posts/6 pages of people complaining about the quality of this thing but no one offered an alternative Frown

I have this.
Use it to tighten the lug nuts on my car. It seems to work well. No problems so far. Price is great when compared to the other big box stores

the converter bit is too weak in a 1/4 inch for any job over 100 in-lb.
It just snaps. My car takes 110 in-lb for the lug nuts and when using a 1/4 to 1/2 converter for these, the converter will snap after a few uses.

Dunno if it's a joke but lug nuts require ft lbs

For up to 80 foot pounds this Made in Taiwan Neiko below agrees well enough with my CDI (Snap On) torque wrench [amazon.com] (admittedly, in my not so scientific bench test).

Neiko PRO 03707B 3/8" Torque Wrench, 3/8" Drive SAE, 15-80 Ft-Lb [amazon.com]

There's one like new Amazon Warehouse for $33.41 at the moment.
