I feel that. Shouldn't coffee be consumed within a few weeks of roasting date anyway? Seems like a lot of coffee asking to get stale

Still a good price for the Super Crema, which I prefer... Not sure about you. Peace

I much prefer super crema. While it's a bit simple, it's super smooth and doesn't have nearly the bitterness as crema aroma (which is still good coffee, albeit).

I always get a 6pack of super crema. No issues sharing with friends for $15/bag to go through it quickly.

Whomp whomp, I got this deal for $53 after coupon and S&S discount back in June. No coupon this time.

Assuming you haven't tried both already (?) then you are in the same position I am in, I have Super Crema already, and it tastes good, but it is a bit weak for us when used in drink (used in Phillips super auto, even when strength maxed). For espressos it is great, nice and smooth, etc. I believe that the Super Crema "Intensity" was estimated as a "5" on the Lavazza scale. I picked up a bag of "Barista Gran Crema" (intensity 7) during black Friday for $10, and we like it a lot better, it has a nice kick/robust flavor in the drinks we make (cappuccino, macchiato, latte), a bit strong for us for straight espresso though. I was about to search for a good deal on multiple bags of Gran Crema... then this deal pops up.

Reading the reviews online are almost worthless, because of course weak for one person is strong for another, bitter for one person is bland for another, etc.

I ordered the crema e aroma cos it was $52 after tax, so like $8ish per 2.2lb bag which is a great price... and it SAYS it is intensity 8 so hopefully close to the Gran Crema,, I am still reading around for comparisons.

I feel like I should just order one 2.2 lb bag of beans for every flavor I am even slightly interested in, so that I know what is good for when these crazy cheap deals come up, it sure is tough to order 13.2 lbs of beans blind Big Grin.

Agreed. I ordered a bag of super crema recently (1 week ago) and it arrived with a roast date of 9/8...hopefully this was isolated to me
😢. imagine receiving 6 bags with dates going months bag.

Technically yes but good luck getting that with any of the super large international brands. If you are picky/snobby about coffee and espresso (I admittedly am semi snobby) then Lavazza is not the brand to buy from, go find your local roasters and get them fresh in small batches that way. I have a fancy set up but also use a superautomatic espresso machine for busy mornings, so I use whatever I can find decent and on sale like this Lavazza for that purpose, and for the most part its fine, even months later (I do store them in the freezer tho).

How do you store these 2lb bags in the freezer? Just straight into the freezer or vacuum seal it?

Unopened directly into the freezer, if its opened I have vaccum sealed canister that I store them in out on the counter.

I mix in some San Fransisco Bay French Roast with it from Costco. Pleasant and strong.

I won't order this again shipped and sold by Amazon. We drink Super Crema exclusively in our DeLonghi super automatic but these beans from Amazon were quite stale and did not taste good last time. Prefer smaller resaler or if you can get direct from Lavazza USA via Amazon that was the freshest and best tasting. I also store in the freezer after purchase.
