Certain Amazon accounts get a 15% coupon on one pack of Hue White Ambiance 75 A19s, bringing the price to $32.29 or $16.49 per bulb.
I got it on my wife's account, but no coupon on my own account. Valid for one only.

I gave up on hue. After spending thousands of $$ over like 15 years. I've found Govee to be just as good at a more reasonable price point. Still use my many hue lights, but they are slow and outdated compared to Govee.
Wondering if you considered LIFX? It looks like they are coming out with new products. Still pricier than Grovee but wanted to hear if people perfer LIFX over other brands.

Is govee a hub system? I like that better than having a million bulbs on my WiFi. Just curious! I have been very curious about govee stuff too

No. Govee is Wifi and/or Bluetooth.

Hue is zigbee and/or Bluetooth. The hue hub is a zigbee coordinator.

But you can also use hue (without the hue hub) with smartthings, home assistant, and other systems that have zigbee built in (or have a zigbee dongle attached).

Disclaimer to confuse folks more: not all hue bulbs have bluetooth. Not all govee lights have wifi. Read the box before you buy.

Agree Hue is overpriced but I've found nothing slow about it, has been instant and seamless for me. Works brilliantly with HoneKit. Maybe because I only have about 20 devices so far, but I doubt illl have more than 30.
Honestly I'd rather have smart switches and dumb bulbs, but my house has old wiring and no neutral on light switches.

Yeah, if someone thinks Hue lights are slow - they are doing something wrong. On a hardware level, they blow every other brand out of the water. They also have an open API and you can, in many way, run them with zero cloud dependency.

Another aspect for consideration (in favor of Hue) is that you are far less likely to find embedded spyware in Hue products compared to your average Chinese-branded knock-off brand.

That one is just the white bulb, not the ambiance one. I thought that too at first but you have to select the ambiance one. I didn't see a coupon for myself but still, the $37.99 is the lowest it's been recently.

Hmmm

I have a ton of Govee, Lifx, Wyze bulbs, and Hue.

Govee does some things really well. But I wouldn't put them in the same tier as Hue.

Hue + the app experience stand alone on top.

Lifx is great color but terrible customer service and a very buggy and overly convoluted app.

Govee has a lot of positives but the quality doesn't compare to hue, IMO.

30.99 is for white not white ambiance. Big difference.

Same here... Recently got the hue flood lights and they required a hub and could not work with Google or Alexa alone. Govvee I've never had to but anything other than the bulbs to work with Google home and Alexa devices

I may have a single lifx bulb that I got through some Amazon promotion years ago. Or maybe I sold it on eBay, I don't remember honestly. I've got like 40+ bulbs, strips, etc, a mixture of hue and Govee. My preference at this point is just Govee, period. Previously I really liked the IFTTT integration with Hue, but that stopped working awhile ago. I've never tried troubleshooting it. Just use Amazon routines now.

Lutron Caseta smart switches work well. I have the PD-6WCL in my home and they don't require a neutral. And they work great, too. $45-50 a switch. Cheaper than a bunch of hue bulbs at times
