Ah, AWD is eligible, RWD is NOT from the inventory. Tesla themselves says on the page when you open the RWD inventory model "Does Not Qualify for Federal Tax Credit"

Thanks, corrected in the post Smilie

They have competition in China.

They have no competition here.

What's there to explain? They adjust to what people welling to pay so they move inventory.

Did you not notice other car manufacturers are dropping price too. Summer of 2023, I went to visit dozen dealerships, not one welling to drop a penny off MSRP. In fact, a few is MSRP+.

So what happens when you buy the tax credit discounted car, but then you find out you didn't actually qualify, e.g. you made over $150k? You have to pay back $7,500 with interest?

Yes.

Are you expecting to have no idea how much money you made last year and no idea how much you will make this year though? (because you can use either year to qualify).

Also note- that income limit is the ONLY reason you'd have to pay anything back now... it used to be you also had to have at least $7500 in net tax liability- but IRS preliminary guidelines say they will NOT claw that back if it turns out you don't- so that effectively makes the POS credit kinda refundable.
