Some Amex cards have a $40 Dell bonus offer making this cost $290.
Add some cashback from one of the cashback sites for a few more dollars off.
Also, get Dell 10% off promo code for $33 less when you sign up for the Dell newsletter/emails, but the code comes some hours to a day later by email.
So, the actual price for this can be around $255-$260 + tax.
So, one has some room to add memory, a larger drive, etc., later
This particular model has a known issue: cannot support external monitor output (through the only option hdmi) more than 1080p. I suspect it is intentional, dell said it is due to motherboard limitation. if you plan to connect to 4k monitor, you are out of luck.
You can hack it by downgrade the graphic driver to version 30.0.101.1298. which is available at the Dell support site for this model, choosing graphic card driver previous versions. you need first run the installation file, during the installation, the laptop will actually automatically update your graphic driver to 31.xxxx, the original one, after that, you need do a driver roll back, then the old version will stay. and you can get 4k hdmi output, but the refresh rate will be 30hz, that is really due to the hardware limitation. It's not an easy hack for sure.

HDMI 1.4 on a 12th Gen, and downgraded to 1080p output?

No bueno. Yikes.

Read this post from the other thread for the easy way to adjust the hinge nuts to avoid breaking the hinge/lid over time. This is a known issue.

Anyone know what the model number is for the $330 version of this? It would be really helpful to determine upgrade options (ram, if you can add a second hard drive) .. strangely enough the website doesn't give the model number even when you add it to the cart

(slaps head).. yep right there in the title shows just how stupid I am, thanks Smilie

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fm4v6xGr03w

talks about adding a second 2.5 format ssd drive .. sadly the crucial MX500 has gone up to $65 for the 1 TB versus the $50 they used to be at

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzSc9VpPIWw

talks about ram upgrade

https://www.crucial.com/compatibl...on-15-3520

strange thing with that link is crucial's website doesn't talk about a 2.5 form factor ssd drive

https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/com...n_15_3520/

reddit thread complaining bitterly about how bad the inspirion is Smilie .. so not sure if it's a "get what you pay for" type situation I'm sure there are other dell inspiron owners who are quite happy with their laptop

Does anyone know how to get the 10% off coupon for subscribing to their newsletter? I don't see any info on this on dell.com
