I've had my eye on a Trad Pro V for a while and these went up. $2,500 was regular in-store price on the Trad Pro V. I also saw at least two of these under $2k during the holiday sale.

Does it really cost them >$2k to write "Gibson" on the headstock instead of "Epiphone"?

Joking aside, the Epiphone Traditional Pro IV LP was posted last month for ~$400 and it seems to be very similar. I'm not going to tell anyone to go buy a $60 Monoprice special instead but come on.

I am saying that this guitar was marked up before discounted. If it can be found for under 2k, $2500 is not slick.

Your comparison is extreme, but I did have a Trad Pro V when they were still $2500 retail and used under 2k, as well as a Satin, and both instruments were fine but not particularly standout quality. I really struggle to recommend these middle price Gibsons as they don't seem to be good value. There are a lot of companies doing single cut LP style guitars now which are made much better for the same money.

If you want a 'new' ebony burst, it's a decent deal seeing they are now looking for over $3K on these. These are really nice guitars.

Personally, I'd check the used market because they are better deals to be had(with more options).
