Seems like this has only 1gb port even though it says supports moca speeds of 2.5gb speeds. Bit deceiving? Looks like 7250 model gets you the 2.5gb Ethernet port.

Works way better than powerline for me, in fact I ran an extra coax line to my garage since it was easy. I have 4 adapters and get gigabit speeds to all nodes. It does seem to add a bit of latency (3ms or so).

I got 3 of these in my place, one is being used to hardwire a mesh router and they work almost flawlessly (you need to reboot them occasionally). Highly recommend that if you don't want to run Ethernet cables in-walls.

It would probably make sense to run new lines in cat-6 or higher rather than coax, and eliminate the need for an additional adapter. This product is to use existing coax lines in homes where they're not being used for cable or over-the-air antenna.

This will be way better than Powerline. I bought these a long while ago and it was a night and day speed difference over Powerline. As long as you have coax at both points where you want Ethernet, then this product works great. Just plug in all the cables and you'lI get full Ethernet speeds over this device.

You'd have to use a POE injector between it and the camera, not over coax.

For those that have fairly large houses and/or 2 story houses, these Moca devices are legit awesome IF your house is not wired with Ethernet cables AND your house has coax running throughout, which most houses do.

I installed the Moca 2.0 version of the ScreenBeams at my ex'es 2 story house. Hooked to a Google Mesh router first gen (she'll eventually upgrade to 6e) and an 8 port Gigabit unmanaged switch on the first floor, and wired backhaul to the other node upstairs. Her Mesh system is only Wireless 5, so she caps at around 500 mb/s wirelessly on a 1gb plan. She has excellent WiFi coverage throughout her house and devices wired to both her nodes and switch are receiving 1gb/s speed on Xfinity 1.2gb plan

I have 4 GoCoax Moca 2.5's in my 2 story house. Also have Xfinity 1.2gb Unlimited plan and 8 port Gigabit unmanaged switches on both floors. Kind of finicky getting the 2.5gb wired backhaul working properly on my ASUS ZenWiFi ET12 Mesh system. But after getting it to work, I get 1gb/s speed to the devices hooked to the switches. 2.5gb wired backhaul to my computers and node upstairs. Max speed wireless (6e) I get around 1.2gb/s on my iPhone

Love these devices. They are a million times better than Powerlines and extenders… believe me.

Other notes:

Anything attached to the Moca Devices SHARE the speed of your internet
Some Internet Providers (ex Xfinity) has a built in Moca 2.5 in their Modem/router.
Make sure splitters are Moca compatible
Also do NOT forget a POE filter to the coax line pre-coax splitter.

In my case, I bought a house that already had coax everywhere. It was much easier to replace a couple couplers (existing ones would have filtered out the MOCA frequencies) and use MOCA adapters for my networking backbone. Was much easier, faster, and cheaper than trying to get new CAT6 runs through multiple cinderblock and brick walls!

My house built on 03 already had RJ45 and Coax ran throughout the house with a junction box near the breaker boxes. Seems like I could use this but I'm pretty decently covered by a TPLINK Deck system now. Wonder if I could get a big increase in speed on the APs if I use this to wire them though...

I've been using MoCA for a long time and it works great. Currently have 3x of the Frontier WF-803FT MoCa 2.5 adapters from eBay (rebranded GoCoax). With MoCA it is using similar tech as DOCSIS and the 2.5 Gbps is shared between all adapters. So if you are running 3 or more (max 16 supported) then you are still benefiting depending on how you move traffic around your home, example if you have a NAS connected to a different adapter from the one you use to get to the Internet.

save your money and just grab the frontier type off ebay. they work great - i am using mine for wired backhaul in my mesh.

I am using the fca252. You need TWO of them if just starting out with moca.

Your node would get wired backhaul speed vs wireless backhaul. So basically both your AP's would be wired. So to answer your question, you'll get consistent, wired speed to your AP's
