  • About this deal:
    • RTINGS gives the QN90C a score of 8.3 and QN85C a score of 8.1 (both for mixed usage).
    • RTINGS' comparison of these 2 models:
      • "The Samsung QN90C/QN90CD QLED is better than the Samsung QN85C QLED, but not by as much as you'd think. The QN90C gets much brighter than the QN85C in both SDR and HDR, but in practice, this isn't always noticeable, as most content just isn't mastered to take advantage of such high brightness levels. The QN90C's Automatic Brightness Limiter (ABL) also more aggressively dims the scene when it gets extremely bright, to a point where the two TVs are equally as bright in the brightest of scenes. The QN90C has better color volume and reflection handling than the QN85C."

They probably see more Samsung than anything else due to Samsung owning 34% of the market share in the US. LG with 19% and Vizio at 11%. Those are the big 3.

Make sure to ask for the extended warranty. I have this TV and had to make an extended warranty claim with credit card when the screen developed problems after 18 months. The repair guy said they see more Samsung TVs than anything else.
How frequent do you use the TV?

This was the title of that post:

"Select Sam's Club Stores: 85" Samsung QN85 Neo QLED 4K Ultra HD Smart TV $991.90".

I just figured it was last year's model because the title did not say if it was the "B" or "C" model.........

So AGAIN, thank you to another SD user for slapping me across the face about me being wrong, even after I said I was WRONG....you people are just.....well, I better not say it, I'll get banned.

Maybe 2 hours a day on average. The TV had a more minor issue when I first got it, where 1/20 times you turned it on, the backlighting wouldn't come on and I'd have to turn it off and then back on. In hindsight, my TV was probably a walking-wounded defect and I should've done something about it then. The backlighting is now inconsistent with a static image (i.e. part of the screen is brighter and part is darker).

FYI, a lot of Samsung TVs do not have built in Chromecast, so if you're a heavy Chromecast user and have multiple devices like XBOX, PS5, SWITCH, etc, is something to keep in mind. Wish in 2024 this stuff was ubiquitous.

My LG displays art as a screensaver - I'd bet others have similar functionality.

Unless you really care about the custom bezel, a slim OLED like the LG G-Series would have better picture quality and the art aspect can be handled with software:

Yeah I've been looking at the G series but my wife wants the custom bezel, which is why I'm considering building my own frame at this point.

It's refreral code.
I would wait until next week for 10-15٪ cash back.
What's the 10/15% off next week? Also a referral code?

Which is top of the line 65"? Or do I need it? Want to surprise my hubs
S95C is Samsungs Top of line TV.
You can find great deals on similar OLED technology TVs like the LG C2 or C3. Or if you want the Best..Get a Sony OLED. 65 to 77" seem to be the sweet spot

Is there an ambient mode or something similar on this so that it will display art? I need a new TV for my living room but my wife really wants the Frame TV. I've read about how awful the backlight bleeding is so I'm thinking about just building my own frame for a different TV. Does this model or other Samsungs have the art software?
You're going to want "The Frame" for displaying art. Not sure if this tv has access to the art store, but you'll also want the flat matte display to avoid reflections so it actually looks like art

update 2: tried using Firefox instead of Chrome. Did the Triple A credential thing again and after a couple tries it forwards me to Samsung's site with the "work @ home" discount at the top (not AAA). Shows correct EPP discount on the TVs while browsing and adding to cart, but at checkout the discount is gone. Maybe I'll give it one more try on the app tomorrow laugh out loud

update: Samsung online chat told me that TVs are no longer included with the Triple A discount program, sad.

Did anyone have success getting the extra discount with a Triple A membership? First time trying for an EPP w/ Samsung and I'm having trouble (Chrome browser btw).

I found a portal to 'shop Samsung discounts' on aaa's website. Once I enter my AAA info there and it approves me, it forwards to Samsung's main website (I'm logged in to Samsung as well). There's an extra EPP string attached to the URL in the address bar which gives further credence to it "working". However, once I navigate to a TV model to add it to my cart, the EPP bit is no longer in the URL and the discount doesn't apply at checkout.

I know getting this EDU/EPP stuff is notoriously finnicky. Planning to work with chat support a bit later but figured I'd ask about it here Confused

How is this for video games? My son plays Fortnite a lot I'm looking for a TV that doesn't bleed in from the same icon on screen for a while

These are near TOTL screens (excluding oled). They'll be great for gaming and no worries about edge bleed (unless you get a faulty unit). I have older versions of the qn90 and qn85, and they are fantastic to play games on

Not bad for the 85" especially. I'm gonna bite, if it drops lower during Super Bowl sales I'll just ask for a price match.

Don't forget to chat and ask for free stuff like mounting and/or Samsung Care and the additional 5% off for adding a friends and family code
You mean the TV mount service or the TV mount hardware ? I am chatting with Samsung rep and they are not aware of the TV mount promotion that they can offer.

Just be mindful, these do not play well with Sonos Arc sound bars. Audio lag, sporadic sound cut outs, etc.... Google before you buy

I have the 85" Class QN85C and have been pretty disappointed
