  • About this deal:
    • RTINGS gives the QN90C a score of 8.3 and QN85C a score of 8.1 (both for mixed usage).
    • RTINGS' comparison of these 2 models:
      • "The Samsung QN90C/QN90CD QLED is better than the Samsung QN85C QLED, but not by as much as you'd think. The QN90C gets much brighter than the QN85C in both SDR and HDR, but in practice, this isn't always noticeable, as most content just isn't mastered to take advantage of such high brightness levels. The QN90C's Automatic Brightness Limiter (ABL) also more aggressively dims the scene when it gets extremely bright, to a point where the two TVs are equally as bright in the brightest of scenes. The QN90C has better color volume and reflection handling than the QN85C."

They probably see more Samsung than anything else due to Samsung owning 34% of the market share in the US. LG with 19% and Vizio at 11%. Those are the big 3.

Nice deal. With this deal, 2 days ago I bought the 85" qn85c for a total of $1567.49 plus tax, total of $1692.89. This includes the 2 year Samsung Care+. Also I got about $30 cashback when buying through another site. Used EPP login to get the $1649 price, then a referral discount code for another chunk off (found random referral codes online), and spoke to chat to get the 2 year samsung care+ added for free with another discount code. Tried begging on chat for additional discounts or a 4 year samsungcare+ plan for free but couldn't get that. [edit: they also offered free mounting instead of the free 2 year samsung care+, a $120 value as opposed to a $200 value].

This should be delivered next week. Looks like free returns if submitted in 15 days so I'll see if any better deals come in in the meantime.

I have had my eyes on this specific TV for the past few months. I know it's not the absolute best TV out there but I think it's more than good enough for my needs and probably worth the few hundred more than what a low-level 85" tv would cost. I have a big 2 story open room with lots of light that needs a bright TV. This will be mounted above my fireplace/mantle with an existing mantle mount - I know, people will hate on that. Will mount my existing bose soundtouch 300 soundbar to the TV/mount as well. Despite the general Samsung hate out there I'm hoping that we'll like this TV.

I picked up the qn90c last deal and it's blown me away. According to rtngs there isnt too much of a difference between the two either.

I also have my TV above my fireplace mantel. I don't care what some people say but sometimes that's the best place you can put it. Not to mention, I feel like looking up at your TV help straighten out your neck when you've been looking down at your phone all day, lol.

The 2022 QN90B 85" went for $1889.99 in 2023 and I believe it went down in price a little bit more by a few $100. At one point with AAA membership discount it could have been had for $1649.99, but I am not sure if they were giving the free 2 year warranty at that price.

With EPP account, I was able to bundle 65" QN85C and Q990C for a total of $1815.05 post tax with a free 2 year Samsung Care. Total savings came out to be $2407.98, which is insane.

Is there an ambient mode or something similar on this so that it will display art? I need a new TV for my living room but my wife really wants the Frame TV. I've read about how awful the backlight bleeding is so I'm thinking about just building my own frame for a different TV. Does this model or other Samsungs have the art software?
I got 85 qn85c. There is ambient mode on it. I haven't fully checked but I believe it'll leave image on the screen.

Side note: TV picture and settings are incredible. But the audio from the TV honestly isn't so great. I'm reluctant to get anything audio but might have to.

Which is top of the line 65"? Or do I need it? Want to surprise my hubs
S90c at most places, S89c at bestbuy or s90 series at Costco. Wait until 1st-2nd week of February or sometime between then and now.

Talk with Samsung customer service for free extended warranty.

None of these use the One Connect box right? After having that box on my frame TV I can't imagine spending big bucks on a TV and not getting that convenience. It's a lot easier to fish a flexible fiber cable through walls than CL-rated 48gbps HDMI cables in my experience.

I got the QN85C directly from Samsung for $1200 after tax (8.25% in my area) almost exactly two years ago. Seeing this as a hot deal makes me feel like I got a really good deal. OLEDs have dropped in price a lot, but these high-end QLEDs seem to have held onto their price a lot better.

I wouldn't buy mine again if I needed to right now. I've mentioned in other posts on this thread that I had an issue with mine that resulted in me making an extended warranty claim (Samsung wouldn't help me after the 1 year warranty). rtings has the QN85C coming in at about the same level as the Hisense U7 series. I'd pick up the Hisense from Costco for $800 (65") and get the extended Costco warranty. I thought I was paying more for Samsung to get a better product, but a one year warranty demonstrates that they don't have confidence in their product.

Is the q80c worth it? I need a 65" for around 800. Looking for the best deal.

What are you using the TV for? My mother in law has the Q70, 65" and she likes it. It has a nice picture and such but it's a very good to average TV. The Q80C should be a little step up.

Here is a comparison [rtings.com] of the Q85C to the Q80C.

This deal is still live, just added the QN90C 85" to cart and it's still $2,080.
