I have this grinder! It's been used daily for about 4 years. There is a small crack in the catch bin, otherwise it's been fine. That's probably my fault tapping it on the counter to get stuck coffee out. No maintenance performed, keeps on going.

My experience so far:
1. It's loud but it gets the job done
2. If you try to run it on the longest setting (18) twice or more, the bin can get very full and as it runs more coffee into the full bin it will sound like it is dying. Probably don't do that.

To deal with the above, I typically run it at night for the next mornings coffee if I think I need a cup earlier than when the rest of the house is up. Again, it is loud.
I've been using one for the last 8 years after buying it for $27.99 in 2016. Mechanically, I don't believe it's likely to break. The issue I had was that the clear hopper is affixed to a black disc that is utilized to set the grind size. It seems as though the easiest way to adjust the grind would be to just grab the hopper and turn it, but this will eventually break the connection between the disc and hopper. Instead, you should grab the disc on bottom and turn it to prevent breaking it. I just superglued the hopper back to the disc and it's still going 8 years later. If you drink the same beans in the same style (e.g. drip) then this is likely a non-issue as you won't even be adjusting it often.

The grind is decent, but it does make some fines. Luckily, the fines being statically charged adhere to the sides of the plastic container, so you can dump out the loose coffee, and then you can knock out the fines into the sink with your finger or a brush. The catch bin and hopper have not cracked. I would never bang thin plastic on the counter, and there's no reason to do so.

The grinder is a little messy and will get some grounds on to the counter as a tiny bit falls behind the catch bin.

I did note that at least one of the one star reviews is for a different model with a dial on the front, so the reviews are likely not all relevant to this design. Mine has never jammed or had any issue aside from the hopper having to be glued back to the selection disc.
12% one star reviews all for breaking after just a few uses.

Didn't something I saw indicate that I thought they were?
Well, they're the same brand but they grind coffee differently. That's what I meant!

Any experience with this? Burr grinder at this price is almost too good to be true
I ibought a really nice one at this price a year or so ago. Unfortunately it is no longer sold.

It's the exact same as this one, so keep an eye out for a sale. Works great, doesn't make that much of a mess, very nice, even grinding:

Have this for 5+ years. No issues. Grinding a 10 cup serving probably 300 times per year.

Crack in the bin? The SAME thing happened to ours. But, like you, we use it daily and it's been absolutely fantastic.

It's not a conical burr grinder. This uses flat plates. You're not going to get any type of uniformity with your grind.

So… I've owned two of these. One was amazing until I dropped it and the top broke off. After some super glue, it worked for another two years (5 years or use before this). Finally it gave and I couldn't keep it together anymore.

Bought a second one and it was a piece of poop. It worked for a short time and then started clogging every grind. Tried cleaning it well a couple times but ultimately gave up on it. Bought a different brand and it's been delightful. No more grinding issues.

Pay attention for the first several months and return if any issues (clogging) starts.

I want to emphasize how loud it is it's louder than a hairdryer on its maximum setting. It's louder than a popcorn popper from the 1970s if anyone's asleep when you turn this on you'll probably wake them up I'm pretty unhappy with how loud it is.

I bought the same one...Mueller, from a local department store for $30.
I thought it would be better than my Delonghi Ariete, which is no longer available. Grind size was accurate but it was messy. I thought the straight drop down design would prevent the grounds from going everywhere but that's not the case. It's a backup to my Baratza Encore in our other home.

My original purchase was the Mueller, on sale for $45 or $50. I wasn't overly impressed by it and ended up returning it. Then about 2 years ago I saw the exact same one for $30 with a different brand on it, Bonsenkitchen, and decided to get it. For some reason, I like the Bonsenkitchen one much better. Possibly psychological because it was cheaper LOL. I don't find it very messy at all. Sure, there's a minor amount of grind that gets on the counter and on the device, but that's it. The only time it was truly messy was when I had Whole Foods 365 coffee, which was extremely oily. I just went through a bag of Peets beans, which looked shiny but weren't that oily to the touch. Hardly any mess at all and I get a perfect grind. Good thing, because I'm too cheap to buy a Baratza.
